As a spin on bobafett's prior thread, a Gold Country Run would be fun for April or May or '04. I proposed (and will arrange) a run from Stockton up HWY 4 to Jackson-Angles Camp-Columbia then to Sonora for dinner and cocktails at my girlfriend's banquet room at the Mountain Springs Golf Club in Sonora. Let me know if this scenario works:

12:00PM Meet in Stockton and start the drive
    6:00PM Terrace Room / Mountain Springs: Cocktails-Dinner
8:30PM Black Oak Casino bus to the Casino
Rooms at the Best Western in Sonora (whenever finished at the casino)
10:00AM Sunday: Brunch at the Terrace Room

If the cars are left at the golf club, I will arrange overnight security, probably from gun-tot'en, off-duty city police or sheriff’s I can get a package deal for the rooms at the Best Western. Dinner would run about $30 for steak or prime rib and about $40-$45 for surf and turf. Trust me, this will be a meal that will not be forgotten!

Please reply with your level of interest and best date suggestions.

Hey Peter, this actually sounds good! May sounds good, primarily of the rains still lingering in the valley in spring.

I'll check my Franklin in advance to see if I can get away from the grind.

Melodie is buried in May with the possible exception of Saturday, the 29th. She'll check it out and I'll advise. June is toast but July is open.

Peter- this sounds like a WONDERFUL idea!

Angel's camp, etc. is great, and I have wanted to meet up with you for ages now.

It sounds like you have all the connections nessicary to make an awesome outing. I'm in.

Now we just have to figure out a time.

    Best!
    Ben.

If we schedule the drive between the first and third week of June, we are guaranteed good driving conditions and a date on the dinner calender!
