Where would be the best place to obtain the chrome prancing horse badges here in the UK? And prices? Looks like I could be close to owning a 348 with a black horse on the rear, and none on the front grille. (Is this standard on a late 93 TS?) What`s the story with the factory badging on these cars? Pardon my ignorance... but there seems to be inconsistency with these badges on the vehicles that I`ve seen so far. Chrome/black/none, etc.
The 348 I checked on Sunday was loosing oil from somewhere which scared me off somewhat and had a few niggles, so it looks like spending a bit more and going to a dealer.
    Cheers.

    Hi Geoff,

You can try www.superformance.co.uk or www.eurospares.co.uk
Both do Chrome badges in various sizes. I've just bought new ones for my 308GTS from eurospares.
Great quality and prompt service. Prices are very acceptable too.
    Regards,
    Mick

F UK seem to be quite reasonable for badges, or you could get your black badge chromed.

I asked the same question of FOC track day instructor/race prep specialist about my 93 TS, he was adamant that black on the back and none on the front is as the factory built them.

From "Original Ferrari V8" by Keith Bluemel, page 89 - 348 Series (1989-95)

"The rear lights were sited behind a full width five-bar grille finished in matte black. The Cavallino Rampante in the centre had a matt black anodised finish on tb and ts models, but a chrome version appeared on GTB/S and Spider models - and for these an identical emblem was added to the dummy front grille. The only exception to this rear-end trim was on the US Serie Speciale, which had uncovered rear lights and a chrome Cavallino Rampante on a small grille between them"

So it depends on age of the vehicle:

348tb 1989-93 (black cavallino, none on front)
348ts 1989-93 (black cavallino, none on front)
348 Serie Speciale (US) 1993 (chrome front and rear)
348 Spider 1993-95 (chrome front and rear)
348 GTB 1993-94 (chrome front and rear)
348 GTS 1993-94 (chrome front and rear)
348 GT Competizione (EU) 1993-94 (chome front and rear)
