Is there a complete 250 GT SWB registry...? Would it be hard to put together myself...? What about just serial numbers...? How many were built, total...? During what years...? How many are left...?

Online? Not that I'm aware of.

Don't see why it would be.

    Meaning...?

188 true SWBs and 7 interim cars.

From 1959 (interim cars) to 1962.

Don't know off the top of my head. Would have to do a little research first. Immediate answer would be, "Most of them."

    Bummer, but okay.

    Ok.

Meaning, more than just serial numbers & year built; more like, current owner/past owners, location, race history, etc....

    What do mean "interim"...?

What do you mean...? Only the 7 interim cars were made from '59 to '62...? i'm confused...

Ok... Now that 188 includes rebodies like 2819 & 2053 GT, right...?

The "interim" cars were the cars built as the design was being developed, ie, half way between the previous 250GT and what is now known as the 250 GT SWB. If I remember correctly they had the SWB style body on the old long wheelbase chassis with a side window behind the door.

Yeah, it appears the URL for that site is on the "banned" list on this site so that the software changes it to a bunch of "*************"s. Can't link to there from here so, NEVERMIND.

I just checked 1813 and 2689. Both histories are wrong, owners incorrect. 1813 was Baker/Kirchner, 2689 was Baker for a few years, re-restored, 1st @ FCA in 94. SEFAC car.

The REAL pioneer in the world of S/N tracking, Jess Pourret, did a book years ago entitled Ferrari, the 250GT Competition Coupes. It includes all early ownership and racing histories, many pix, development history, etc. I suppose its hard to find now, but is an essential starting point for learning all there is to know about TdFs, SWBs, and GTOs. Jess is one of the few people on the planet who was given free access to factory records, which he poured over for days! Very accurate; only rare mistakes.

There were about 170 swb's. Now there are less. Just because there are more replicas out there, that doesn't mean that the number of real swb's goes up.
