This is a 365 (white turn signals). Any information on the event the photo is from, magazine name, date, etc.?

    Thanks.

The white Boxer looks like 31643, although I didn't know it was in the USA. Last I saw it was in Europe.

    Lee,
i'm looking at an article in the UK Ferrari Owners' Club Spring magazine. It says this car is BB512 spider conversion , SN31975 belonging to Mr Preston Henn. It was shown at the 2004 Cavallino Classic. The report and pics are by Keith Bluemel.

I have these pictures of a white spider conversion which looks like the same car with a different number plate. The plate in these pictures is a German from Dusseldorf I think, or may be Dresden. They were taken in the 80's. The car looks like a 512 to me - front spoiler, side air scoop, door mirrors. The colour of the turn indicator lenses were dependant on the paint colour and do not indicate a particular model.

You are mistaken in this case. All 365 GT4/BB's used white indicator lenses in the nose. The later 512 models had yellow or oranged coloured ones, depending on the exterior colour of the car. For example yello indicators on red 512's and orange ones on silver 512's.

Now i'm confused. Car(s) shown in several pics have a NACA duct and twin 2 pipe exhausts. These are characteristic of the 512, not the 365BB.

Also, i thought the 365 BB had three tail lights on each side in the back, not two...

I´m not an expert in Berlinettas Boxer and I didn´t know that stuff of white or orange indicators, but I do know that 512s have 4 tail lights, twin 2 pipe exhausts, front spoiler and NACA ducts, so I think this must be a 512 spider.

Who did this conversion? I know that there was a 512 GTS by Straman. It wasn´t a true spider, just had a targa top. Any pics of it around there?

Nice pic! Originally, 365's all had white indicators. Off course, they could be swapped with other indicators through the years (perhaps due to lack of original spares). Same goes for the exhausts: all 365's had 2 sets of triple pipes, but I have seen some 365's that had been modified to 2 sets of double pipes (as the 512 BB's).
The main exterior differences that separates 365's from 512's are:

    Lack of a front spoiler
    White turning indicators
    No NACA ducts
Far less louvres on the hood
    Slightly shorter tail
    Six rear lights
    Six exhausts

Perhaps the white indicators were for the Italian market, and the orange/yellow ones for other European countries. It was like that with Alfa Romeo in the seventies.

Very nice! Boxers are great. I saw a 365 BB in the same configuartion at the Nürburgring during the 2002 Racing Days. But I prefer all Ferraris factory- original...

Some more differences that seperates 365's from 512's:

    No fog lights in front
No head-rests (at least not on early cars)
    4.4 litre engine
    20 more hp
    Different gear ratios
Same size wheel front and rear

    That's about it I think... :)

If I recall, correct me if I,m wrong..The original 365's had a slightly shorter body and less wheel well flares, than the later 512's.
