What you be your choice for an entry level ferrari around 30,000K euros? Why was this your choice? EDIT: No I don´t mean Pool...Sorry for the spelling mistake...
For me, it's down to the 308/328 line, and I chose a 308 because a 328 at that pricd would not be in good shape. I'd rather have a 308 in good shape.
Where I live, some of these cars simply aren't available at that price yet... (most recent Mondials, 328's, 348's,...). At least, not that I know of and not if you want a perfect and well maintaned one. So in this case I'ld go for the 308 GTS QV. Best choice if you want a good one for 30.000 IMO. Personaly, I would have some more patience and wait a just little longer for a more recent model...
But I'm not so sure that there are very many 308QV's out there for sale at $30k, AND in top condition. I'd be buying it myself.
That has to be the longest list of poll choices in the history of F-chat. I voted for 348ts, but doubt you could find a good one for 30k. Same with 348tb, 328GTB, or 328GTS (my other first choices). If it had to be under 30k, carbed 308GTB or 308gt4 with a few extras like Tubi, wheels, etc..
I just bought a 77 308 with 22k on the clock, Reasons: Carbureted car so I can work on it. More power than injected. better sound. Low mile older car, with no rust, very straight body & nice interior. Berlinetta -stronger chasis/body & better lines than spyder, imho. Faster than other "low" priced ferraris eg 400i, 308si, Mondial. Soon to be, (hopefully), smog exempt in 2006 I bought it from an independent dealer WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR SMOG. This could be a big deal here in the peoples republic of calif. I was quoted $1500- $3000 to make a non smog 78 pass. this car was in Missouri. If I authorized the work and had the car shipped, received it, tested it and had to dump Mo Money into smog, I would have been P****d. I have been told that the 100lb. Thermal reactor Ansa muffler is worth maybe $2000. Would that make you toss your cookies if you had to dump a tubi and cough for the stock anchor. Sorry, the smog stuff just kinda chaffes my buns. A couple of other things to look for besides the belt change stuff and oil changes: 308s have a funky ignition system, two distributors, two sets of points, lotsa maintenance, expensive parts, ($2-300 for a cap????)/. does everything work the way it's supposed to. has the po done any upgrades eg. millermon distrib, electromotive crank fire, msd boxes, etc. Older ferraris have rubber fuel hoses, suspension bushings, radiator hoses, has the po kept up with these items. The parts aren't much but the labor to do the hoses and suspension bushings may represent a fair percentage of the purchase price of the car. If you buy the car and have a coolant hose pop is east jesus, maybe toast the head gasket, it could get ugly. bottom line, check the maintenance, don't let price be your major decision point on car purchase. The seller may emphasize the cool new 8 bazillon watt sound system or the stylish new new "mags" or the total orriginality of the car, but has it been maintained?? How about rust. Can you do the work or will you have to have it done in the shop. good luck, chris

This list doesn´t necessarilly reflect my choices, rather what´s available. It´s around 30,000 euros, not less than 30,000 euros. The reallity is that when someone is lookin to buy a ferrari they have a maximum budget that they can probably stretch a little... Probably sticker prices that you see on the web or dealer´s can be negotied, or you have a trade in. Someone that is looking for a 308 qv in perect condition might be tempted for a 328 for a few thousand more, for example. Or you might have 35,000K and 348´s are not your thing and you prefer get a 308. This is really the question that Prospective Ferrari buyers ask. Anyway, Thanks for all your input so far. With a few more votes, we will have a really good insight on the preferences of all of us as a group.
I voted for the 348 but, as other already said, it's difficult to find good ones for that amount of money...

As I have said in the post above, take the budget with a grain of salt. It is around 30,000...and prices are diferent for different markets as well as currency fluctuations to take into account. No, I don´t want to stretch this amount to testarossa money, but I think you can probably find all these models around this budget value. I will prepare some stats about a few conclusions from this poll. There are some interesting results. Keep voting! Ricardo
Ricardo said around 30,000. this is nowadays $ 37,000. I still would go for a V12. I voted for a 412, but it is probably hard to find a good one for $ 37K, so I should amend my vote to the 365gt4 2+2. Rijk

They would prefer to have an open top ferrari. If you can get a good 328 for that price, go for it. (I was lucky enough to do that, but most equivalent 328s would be more.) Otherwise a good 308qv is the best bet. And while the GTB is a bit more "pure" in shape, the GTS is more versatile, especially if you'll be wanting to give rides to tall friends!
Well first off I need to say that all of these polls are driving me crazy... Stop the insanity! OK with that out of the way, If your total budget is only 30k euros, Then I would be looking at Ferraris in the 23k or less price range. From experience, allot of people think they can afford a Ferrari... Hey this old Ferrari is only $30k, I have $30k, I think I'll buy it. OK my $30k is now gone and I have a 25 year old Ferrari, great! But then find out that they can't afford the upkeep on the car... What do you mean the timing belts haven't been changed in 14 years, I don't know how to do that job, and the service shop wants thousands to service the car. Hey all the shocks and suspension bushings are worn out, and the water pump needs replacing, and the car is overheating because the 25 year old radiator need to be re-cored. Just some things to think about when it comes to budgets for old Ferrraris. I'm by no means trying to scare you from Ferrari ownership, I'm trying to prepare you!
I hate the front bumper on the 308s. Can do w/ out the louvers on fenders too. Like a bigger engine, the console, newer car (rubber etc) w/ 328. I'm looking too...
I don't like the front bumpers on the US version 308's either. Why not try a Euro 308 with resessed bumpers, less weight and more power.
