Thought I'd post a couple of pictures of a Ferrari here to see if anyone recognises this car from some small clues... I've got some full pictures once some guesses. thought this might be an interesting post for the Rossa-region. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm going to guess a 330 GT.But vintage ferrari expert I am not.Are the chrome moldings for the side windows missing?
250 SWB California spider. EDIT: Wait, I did not mean spider (it obviously has a roof! I was looking at the pic wrong!) 275 GTB
That photo would support my original theory that this is 250 GTO s/n 3647 GT. Still, I'm puzzled by what looks like a red interior on the other photo.
OK, I'll never i.d. the car, but let's consider the following: 1. The metal bracket on the window must be significant. 2. Instruments have plain english written on the water/oil gauges, but not the tach. 3. The tach has a "variable" redline needle. When was that in use? 4. RHD vehicle. Hmmm....
I cannot get any orientation on that first picture. It looks like a door aperture and windscreen surround, but the angle of the steering wheel looks all wrong. My eyes are tied up in knots tring to picture it in a larger context, but given the scuffing on the pillar sure makes it look aluminium. The second picture looks like a very curved front wing, but the big chip to another red layer underneath says fibreglass to me. The unrestored but clean nature of the picture suggests something very precious (ie restoration would reduce its' value). The third picture shows an RHD car which means it is likely a factory racing car (if it was a road car, and it is in america, I'm assuming that it would have been specced LHD). The layout of the instruments certainly looks like half of a GTO dash, but there does not seem enough roon for the dials to the right of the tach, but I'm just assuming that is just as a result of the odd angle of the picture. Please give us some more clues...... Just my 10cents worth
Wayne - I'm amazed that you got this right from the first vague information! Attached are a couple more pictures. I'd never seen an unrestored GTO before, awesome to see it like this. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, as a first guess, I'm gonna suggest that is is an old TR, perhaps a 330, or maybe even a 60. Getting warm?
Ok, while you guys are still pondering the upside-down car, here's another (in my opinion, easier) one:
Hmm. Please, let's not have everyone guessing at once. Okay, here's a shot of the #50 car before it became "disoriented:"
