348 hose clamp sizes

I'm sourcing ABA 304SS hose clamps to go with my new hoses (see other thread) and am trying to figure out what sizes I will need. The clamp sizes overlap so what's the best way to make sure you get the correct size clamp for a given hose?

Do you measure the hose and then use that as the middle value of the clamp? Is it best to measure a hose while on the fitting or by itself? Simple, but just wanted to make sure I get it right.
