What car did you drive before you got the Ferrari? Was it fast?
I had a killer ZR-1 Corvette....about as "exotic" as it gets for an American car. Even though it would eat my TR for lunch, I've never regretted the move to Ferrari....not for a minute!
1975 Lamborghini LP400 Countach that I drove for 6 years, it was the fastest car I had ever had up to that point. I was going through tires like you would not believe. Traded it in on a 1981 Ferrari 308GTSi, not the fastest, but what has turned out to be the love of my life (a guy thing).
Started out like every average Joe, had Civic, Maxima likes, them moved to Lexus GS400, M roadster, had a 650rwhp '97 SupraTT, now roll in E46 M3 daily and 996TT fun/track. Looking to get into a F355. Wishfully a Modena in a year or two.
I had a 86 Toyota Camry, then a 91 Lexus ES250 (a Camry with a nicer radio) before I bought my 365 GT4. The Ferrari was the first car I owned that was a manual gearbox.
Porsche 914/6 bought it 1979 for ca. $ 1.200, sold 1981 for $ 1.000,- Porsche 924 Porsche 944 wonderful car and I still miss it Porsche 928 Porsche 911 Turbo changed to Italy: Alfa Romeo Spider Fastback (from 1980)....I could kill myself, sold it. changed to Ferrari: starting with a `85 308GTSi QV and now happy to drive a `91 testarossa.
Oh yes, I was realy so stupid to sell this wonderful Spider after 10 years driving all round Europe. Sold it for just DM: 9.000,- /uro: 4.500,- in 2000. Here is one of the last pics.....will never forget this beautiful spider with all the wonderful memories.

I went in 1998 to WWoC to trade in my M3 for an M Coupe when it just came out, but drove away in a Ferrari.

'73 Camaro ZR-1-loved it at the time. Fast enough for a 17 y/o. '79 Corvette- good looking but no power '84 Corvette-not as good looking but pretty fast. loved the 4+3 overdrive '96 Porsche 911 C4 Cabrio-fairly quick, but couldn't get along with the wannabes at the PCA. '00 BMW 540i 6 spd-killer sedan First F-car: '74 Dino 246GTS-beautiful but low on power Next: '01 360 spider-quick as hell but twitchy at real speed Next: '00 360 Challenge-quicker and even twitchier but what a blast '02 Scooby WRX Turbo, heavily modified-my daily driver. rain, snow, whatever. $28k and can give most F-cars a run for the money.
I guess I should have mentioned what I have now & I'm trading up from: 72 240Z w/ V8, 2 Mazda RX7s & a Miata.
Aston V8 Vantage Volante, 63 E-Type Roadster, 63 Corvette Roadster, AC MKIV, and Yes years ago in college, I had a 1974 Alfa 2000 Spider, Still miss it as well. Same thing for my TR-5.
