excellent cars, with a lot of performance potential. just some food for thought, the repairs for this brit car are going to be heinously expensive. Also, other than the fact it now has a salvage title, i would think that if it really was a fix-up car that wouldnt require mass amounts of cash, the owner wouldve already had it fixed and just sold it as a salvage title car in good condition for much more money...but thats just my .02
I wouldnt ever invest in a salvage title car

That's what I was thinking. The Esprit is probably my second favorite car, but that one seemed a little to good to be true.

Lots of discussion here on F-chat regarding Loti. Do a search for 'Esprit'

Imho, I would steer clear of 97's and try to either find a clean 98 or an S4s. 97's had a couple of teething problems with the V8.

    Beautiful car though! Happy hunting!

For another 10k you could have one without a salvage title. The price of the Esprit's are dropping fast. The car does appear to be in good shape, but I would rather be caught sucking my own d$#k than drive a salvage title car...

Go for it! You can't beat the Esprit prices, they're worth about as much as used c5's lol.

Did not know about teething problems on the '97 but that car is awesome in every regard, having driven one for extended periods I have to say I cannot really say anything bad about any aspct of the car at all. That motor just seems to want to pull and pull and the turbos are sweet and spool up quick.

Teething problems for 97's are mostly due to the fact that the original batch sent over had a poor clutch design, and all were recalled and replaced by Lotus.

Apparently the salvage Esprit on Ebay has more problems that what can be seen in the pictures.
