Hmm, maybe 575 replacement? Good find. Nose look longer than normal 575.

Good find that should be the underneath of the 575 Replacement.

    575M

The 575M, an evolution of the 550 Maranello, offers a 515-hp, 5.75-liter V-12 mounted in front, with power sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Ferrari's F1-style electro-hydraulic control for the six-speed is optional, and it includes a fully automatic mode. Add huge brakes and an adjustable adaptive suspension that controls each wheel separately. The 575M is capable of reaching 202 mph, earning membership in an elite group of supercars.

Ehhhh. Another bomb. You could add 2 spare tires on each fender and it could be a new Excalibur!

    Wonder no more!

This is an old picture of a test prototype for the 612 Scaglietti. What else could have such looooong nose???

I remember a few other pics of an unusually long-nosed Maranello like in late 2002 or early 2003.

This is the test mule for the 612 Scaglietti. As stated on the photo, it was shot by automotive spy photographer Brenda Priddy, who's accompanying description at the time was:

    "Ferrari (456GT/GTA) 460GT/GTA prototype:
Styled by Pininfarina, the successor to the 456GT/GTA will likely be called the 460GT/GTA. Powered by a 6.0-liter V-12 spinning out 476 hp, the 2+2 460 will be introduced sometime in 2003."

uh oh, alan hit the nail on the head with this type of style. i understand that keeping engine behind front axle is good for performance but it makes it look like a penis on wheels. f is all about style, style, and more style. these proportions need to go. return to midengine 12 cylinders

It does, a long silver, fast, penis. What the **** is up with the mid-front designs? I think its dumb myself.

Mid-front engine placement = 100% pure marketing. No significant benefit is gained through this nonsense, as there are plenty of other easy ways to redistribute weight balance aside from moving the engine back into your lap.

Mako, I definately think marketing has something to do with it, but the SLR and the Quattroporte have a similar arrangement as well. Both those two cars have received excellent reviews for there balance and traction. In addition, one reason Audi wants to join up with Maserati on technology transfer is because of the Chassis of the new Q.
