i sooooooooo hear you on that. XJ220s are a bargain. Original price, roughly 750, 2004 price, 150. Thats one of the worst cases of depreciation ive ever seen. I saw one in houston a few months ago. Very cool looking car.
so i wonder if my local jag dealer would work on it, lol. Actually seriously though, i wonder if there are any certified jag dealers that would work on a 220 in the states. Or do they send a mechanic to you from england? Or, i guess you could always work on it yourself.
I AM GLAD THAT YOU ARE NOT BUYING ONE, BECAUSE IT WOULD BE THE FIRST JAGUAR SKIPPING STONE SEEN FLYING OVER THE PACIFIC WITH 200 SHOT NITROUS, AS WE KNOW, MAUI IS NOT THE LARGEST PLOT OF LAND IN THE LEFT HEMISPHERE.
I agree with your idea for wheels, tires and the other mods. Car is stunning except for the C4 Corvette wheels. You'd probably have to have them custom made though.
The 220 has always been exotic and cool but don't you think the interior is a but pedestrian, downright boring actually, and the engine isn't "on display" enough, seems too cramped in their. Just my opinion.
RETIRE TO WHAT MAY I ASK? I HAVE 5 YEARS OR SO MYSELF, AND I AM BEGINNING TO WONDER WHAT THE HECK TO DO WHEN ALL THE PRIME WORKING YEARS ARE PAST.
Korr, like the avatar, very cool! We have the same name although his is spelled with an f and mine with a ph. BTW, turn your caps loclk off. LOL
I guess paradise has turned into a nightmare allan? That sucks. There neat looking cars. Not to mention quite unique.
By retire i mean, no longer have a job which requires certain hours. I will just play with real estate, and maybe even some cars. Ill also have kids then.
Yes the interior is crappy, but it can be fixed and updated. Good thing, is that because it is so plain it will be easier to do.
You can get them serviced in Indiana of all places. A shop there has the factory software. This car is worth about 200K. That is the market for a serviced car in the states. If a car is factory new, proper service to get it running is about $20,000. Allan would mod the car. Don Law racing in England does have a turbo upgrade for the XJ220. It adds over 100 hp to the already underrated engine. True hp with the new turbo approaches 700. The engine has its minor problems but is basically bulletproof. I want one of these cars too. You don't have to buy one and mod it Allan, you could also just get the S version.
I CANNOT TURN OF THE CAPS LOCK KEY BECAUSE TODAY IS SET ASIDE TO APPRECIATE BRUCE AND HIS YELLOW TESTAROSSA. YOUR AVATAR IS SPELLED FORRPH? ALL THIS WEEK I WILL BE PICKING AN FCHATTER TO GIVE PRAISE TO, ALTHOUGH I DON'T THINK IMPALA69 IS 'AWEASOME' ENOUGH TO DO SO. I WILL CHANGE MY MIND IF HIM AND GERALDO CAN FIND MY LOST CACHE OF CADDIES.
I saw one of these in person at Norwoods about a month ago. It was a lot bigger than I expected it to be, and had a TON of room in the engine bay. The V6 they put in it looked tiny. The interior looked like something out of a late 70's japanese import.
Who cares Allan just buy it. Theres no way anything would keep me from buying that car if I had the chance. Not even Jesus himself.
