Serious question, Fuel prices are really getting up there and NO I DON'T want this to get into a Rep/Dem debate on why.

What is the choice of fuel brand and Octane you go for in your Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo and other exotics.

    what about your daily driver?

Also as an asside What $ per gallon for the good stuff in your area?

Depends on the grade required by the car I'm in,
but most of the cars I drive require premium gas.

I just follow the OM recommendations for both my F and other vehicles (which are all effectively 87 AKI minimum).
Conoco or Shell brands (but no strong loyalty for either)
87 AKI benzina is ~$1.80 (US)/(US) gallon here in (Boulder) Colorado.

For the F-car, P-car, etc.: Chevron Techron Supreme $1.83/gal.

For the daily drivers (Ford / Chevy): Chevron Techron Regular (or next grade up) $1.50 - $1.70 approx./gal.

Preference is Chevron. Next would be Shell. Third choice would be BP.

My sister will actually drive half way across town to go to the same gas station every time.... Don't really know why but hey she is related to me so the wiring might be a little faulty there too....

For whatever reason, I'm loyal to Sunoco 94 for all the exotics in the stable. In my area it goes for $1.85 - $1.99.

Regular is fine in an old 8.8:1 compression 308GTB

It's kinda embarressing to pull in and use my company Exxon card on the way to events where I have my F1 crew suit on, with the Shell logos all over it!
    I wear dark glasses!

FWIW my Mercury Outboard mechanics say the Shell fuel is best!
There's not any in Point Blank, Texas!

$1.84 for premium 92 for the 328 this morning. I'm not brand concious, but I do buy brand gas. No 7-11 or Wal-Mart gas for me. Unless it's for the Yukon.

True But here they are getting to "record Levels" according to the news....

I know that those of us in the US are spoiled with "cheep" gas and it was the smartest thing ever done in canada going to the metric system so no one could tell what the price per gallon was any more... but I was more looking for brand affiliation than trying to compare our prices to the world.

First choice is Chevron then Shell as a second choice. Both approx $2 per gallon. For my other cars, I will use Hess premium or Sunoco.

firstly, even at these high prices you aren't paying that much compared to the rest of the world.
secondly, just to put things in perspective, even if these prices continue for a year and you maintain the same mileage as usual, you will pay about $500 more than you did last year. and if you own a ferrari, that shouldn't bother you too much.
third, it is actually pretty rare that you would get gasoline from the same branded station as the refinery where it was made. only in certain parts of the country does this actually happen - houston, la, sf, chicago, ny, nj and a few others. most of the time, the product gets put into a pipeline, or a commingled storage installation and then pumped over the rack onto a tanker truck that then delivers it to the gas station. in other words, in most instances you are getting a cocktail of everybody's gas.

however, in those areas where you are somewhat sure of getting 'a pure strain' then personally i think that exxon makes the best stuff. but that is just imho.

Used to use Hess but around here them as well as Mobil are the highest. Currently put 93 Octane in the Viper and pay $1.69 a gallon.

I buy whatever major brand I'm near when I need gas. A busy place has fast turnover for gas and less water in the tank. Also, they change the Summer/Winter formulas and you want the current season.

My Lotus has a 10.5:1 compression ratio and needs premium, especially with my 14 degree static advance (it's *supposed* to be 6-8 degrees for emissions). My Accord uses cheapo gas since the computer sorts it all out.

You 308 guys can use cheapo too with your low compression ratios; if you're buying premium you're wasting your money. Can't say for the newer models but of course you should use what the owner's manual says. Upgrading octane is a waste.
