After the response here I contacted the owner of ATS. We're on for Saturday, May 29th. The cost per car will be $40 for 3 runs with Fuel/Air on the DynoJet. The shop is moving in March and will be in a better facility in Denton (2120 James St.) by April. We only need 5 cars to make this happen, and can have up to 15. Who's in? Matt, feel free to pass this to the Pantera group. Who's the contact for the Lotus guys? Questions? Send me a PM. This is not associated with any particular car club.
I'll be at TWS that weekend. This is the weekend right after the Poker Run, so the cars should have the carbon out. $40 is a great price. Tillman and I've talked about doing a FCA dyno day in the fall and since Bob Norwood isn't doing it anymore, this sounds like a good place.
Sounded like they did a good job and knew how to handle your 328. As you say, we'll see how this goes before we send an invite out to the entire club. I like that they have the air/fuel too.
Hey Tillman - I'll pass it on to the Lotus crew. I'm putting it on my calendar, but I may take my Mustang instead of the Lotus. Haven't done anything to the Esprit since the last dyno run I did (316hp at the wheels).
5 Ferraris + a couple of DeTomasos + one or two others. Not bad so far, given that it's still 2 months out. If you all have questions buzz me via email or PM. I'll bring the thread back to the top in May.
Tillman: can you put a Diablo VT on it also > all-wheel drive? I'm curious to see what my car truly puts out...
Unfortunately, this is a 2-wheel dyno only. There does appear to be a 4-wheel at another shop in the area, and I'm going to see what it will take to use it for a fall dyno day. Look for that in the sept-oct-nov timeframe
Not moi. That's Memorial Day weekend, I'll be running my OTHER motorized toy that weekend. Speaking of which, if any of you want to make a run down for the day....
I plan on being there. Heads are at the machine shop, should have them back this week. All things go well, I will be running again by this weekend, if not, the next. We're having our Pantera club meeting tonight, I'll ask then who all will be going. BTW, if anyone likes, drop by our meeting tonight. It's at 7pm in Lewisville, at the Saltgrass next to Best Buy. There will hopefully will be a new Pantera owner there tonight, sporting a twin-turbo setup, with a Fontana block. Serious machine.
I want to get my new cams installed before the event. Now I was just told that there is a 2 week back order on them.
Tillman, had two questions asked tonight. Will the three runs be back to back, or will there be time to do some tweaking in between runs? Also, what kind of oxygen sensor are they running?
I'll find out bout the timing. When I did mine they were pretty much back to back, but my numbers were good and nothing needed tweaking. My buddy changed the plugs on his car between runs. I'll ask the onwer what he thinks -- it'll probably depend on how many cars are there. The O2 sensor just went into the tailpipe. Do you all need a brand name? Was anyone else interested other than you?
No, not a brand name. You answered what they needed to know. There are at least two other people besides myself interested, and I'm trying to pin down more.
Well, the Panteras are mostly carburated, so some guys like to be able to adjust jets in between runs. Then there is the possible timing adjustments as well. For those with EFI, they can use their laptops. The 5mins answers my question though, not enough time to adjust anything. This is not a deal-breaker, just something asked. I'll let the guys know.
Sorry, thought that was in the initial post. Starting at 9:00 AM, and we have to be out of there by 4:00 because he has something going on that evening.
I've got 5 Panteras (including myself) who have expressed interest in being there. How many others have you heard from?
