I am assuming that at some time Ferrari started to make molds and press body panels. When did they begin to do this?

    Vincent.

The BB512i was the last production Ferrari to be hand hammered on a wooden buck.

Mr. Parker is correct. Scaglietti pointed this out in recent interview.

308s were molded in fibreglass until steel stamping tooling was built.

The steel door panels do show hand fabrication as far as assembly, but the components were stamped.

Yes, mr. parker is correct although I am pretty sure that there was some hammering done on my gt4 body! :p There are some good books "Inside Ferrari" and "Ferrari the factory" last of which is just out. All which show some cool pics back in the days. There is pic of a guy in a closed room spraying a gt4 with no respirator or even a dust mask. Plus pics of old bucks and race cars just thrown in a pile "out back"
