what was the location of that second shot? it sorta looks like buena vista park SOMA in SF, but with the big cylindrical steel containers added.

Hey doody- yeah, I am a megabucks type of producer and I flew my crew to SF for the homeless man shot in the park. ;) No really, it's a place called "Tranquility Park" in downtown Houston.

It was all filmed in the Houston/Galveston areas... but you'd never know by seeing the movie... looks like NE USA.

KMS- 3 camera shoot, all 3 Canon XL1S (still camera was also Canon)

All post production done w/ Sony HW & SW.

Dave- what lens/matte box do you have on there? Any recommendations for optional equipment on the cam?

Did you know that 28 Days Later was filmed using the XL1s?

I am a big fan of low budget, well wrought films; like first novels, these are sometimes the best creative efforts. Throwing money and stars at a production does nothing if there is no story, no tension, no real drama.

Unfortunately, i am also a fan of horror films and much of what has been done in the last few years is either "tongue in cheek" semi-parody (Cabin Fever) or simply loses the thread (Blair Witch; Session 9). To quote a recent review of "I Spit on Your Corpse": "****, when you can't even make ****ing and axe-murder entertaining, it's time to get out of show business."

Thus, recent "remakes" of older schlock or classics (Dawn of the Dead; Psycho) leave me cold.

My ideal: The Third Man (not horror, but noir with a unique flavor).

Break a leg (or whatever they say).
