I see that the latest fad in the rice rocket wars is the Lambo door kit. So I was just wondering what a 308 would look like with this kit . Think anyone has tried this?

How much more would the thing have to weigh to support the 308 doors vertically?

I am sick and tired of people refering to any vertical (or even slightly vertical) opening doors as lambo doors, or critising the use of this concept by any other manufacturer, including Ferrari.

Should we refer to all other doors as Mercedes doors (assuming that Karl Benz put opening doors on his cars first?), and shame on EVERYBODY else for using Mercedes doors ...

Hunderds of racing prototypes had all sorts of different door openings a long time before Lambo.

Are we saying that this is the only thing we remember Lambos by?, because I don't I remember or think of them that way, but as querky supercars that are rare. It just another way of opening the door, hardly important, does not affect the driving dynamics of the vehicle ... the IMPORTANT part.

man that new murci is SMOKIN' HOT.

re: the doors... well, I don't care which manufacturer uses them... but to put them on a 308 (which was the original question) seems a bit barbaric to me.

I actually saw a 355 with Lambo style doors. I would not do it, but have to admit it looked pretty cool.

PSK - The MB doors are gullwing, hinging from the top, not forward tilting..but I got the drift. I think most people equate Lambo for that type of door because all of their contemporary models employ the design.

I can't see how people get in those to drive? They don't open that much at all...

I really liked the 360 Modena that I saw on TV with these doors. It was in the background on one of the rapper MTV shows. I've seen these door kits offered at the local custom car show and I think they're about $1000 and I bet it's easily reversible back to stock. My kids loved the Diablo because of the doors! So, why not? It's not like modern Ferraris are precious or anything, Ferraris after 1970 are pretty commonplace.

I'd love to see what a 308 would look like with a professionally done kit on it.

I think all of you lambo door haters are missing the point.

If EVERYBODY had lambo doors, no more door dings! (wow, imagine that, what a wonderful world that would be...)

I actually agree, I for one like them. Would I install them.....only if the weight difference from stock was withing a few lb. No need to make the car heavy for such a minor reason.
