    My question:

Driver's licenses are available in a number of different classes, depending on what type of vehicle the driver is driving (Class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc...). Are these numbers standard across North America and even the world?

    Thanks.

They are close to Canada's numbers. I have a class 5, passenge cars and trucks. But if you are brave, you can drive a 5 ton flat bed with air brakes! WooHoo! Look out!

Since licenses are granted by each state, it appears that things vary. I hold class C and class M in California - cars and motorcycles.

Dude, I'm in the same country as you! And yes, that's what I'm going for (Class 5 now but going for air brake endorsements).

Thanks to the others for the info.
