Not sure if this belongs in offtopic or not, but it does pertain to buying my Ferrari 328 wheels from Ferrari UK. I received the wheels a couple of weeks ago, look great, etc. So, today I get a bill from Fedex for $45 for Duties, Tax, Customs. Bummer. Do I need to pay this? Is there some way to get out of it (always looking for a way to avoid taxes- legally). Dom
Well, you could skip the invoice for a while, but, FedEx will come after you for it eventually. Just got a similar bill today from DHL for a shipment from Canada for an exhaust. Just the cost of doing business outside the US, I guess. At least we don't have to pay the VAT that the Brits pay on this stuff, along with the rest of the EU.
Probably too late this time. If you had it shipped to a business and used their resale # that may have worked. Ask Ferrari - UK how to get around it.
