http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2472364250&category=6212 No affiliation. Just thought a '96 GTS with 30K servicing done, at a low 70's no-reserve price is a pretty attractive starting point. Looking forward to seeing where this ends up.
I saw that also and it does look interesting. The ad claims it also comes with the luggage, which is worth $2K by itself. Unfortunately the pictures do not highlight typical problem areas associated with the 355 so its hard to get a read on the condition. Certainly worth a call. Another good lead on a 355 GTS is at www.lnsmotorcars.com They are showing a '97 GTS with 9k miles for $75K. No pictures or even mention of the color yet, but again, worth making a call.
That car has problems. And I believe it is the same one now on Cavallino website now for $69500, accident and rebuilt title.
His Ebay profile shows he bought it for $71888, Nov. 2003. off an ebay auction from a Dallas, TX dealer. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=2444446315
haha, good catch. Note to self: do not sell something on Ebay that I've already bought on Ebay until that item is no longer available...
It's also interesting to note the seller is using the old pictures from the previous auction. It makes one wonders what the car condition is today?
Oops. But a great price if bought from a dealer at that level. Unclear if the 30K was done at the time, though, right.
Its not our car. Ours is a 1997 and has shy of 10,000 MIles and will have likely a rebuilt title. Martin www.4Ferrari.com
Thats really funny - he has so far made a profit of several thousand dollars and he put 4,000 miles on the car over the winter!!! He is doing well out of this!
Pics look good but that's not always a good indicator, I'd be interested myself seeing where it ends up. My friend just sold his '95 well maintained with tubi and Challenge grill GTB for $70k, forget the mileage.
Interesting data point tifosi69. Do you know what the service condition of it was (just serviced, due for one, etc.)? Thx.
My office is in Manhattan Beach, if anyone is interested, I can stop by and take a better look at the car for you. IMHO, its nice looks in great condition but mileage a bit on the high side.
Thanks Albert. I would definitely like that. Even before this car went on EBay, I have made an offer to this seller and now am waiting to see what happens at the end of his auction. If he sells it, well he sells it. But if not, and he accepts my offer, that is my car. So, if it would not be too much trouble for you, I would love to hear from you the real condition of the car now. Thanks in advance. Erdem.
Auction update: Bidding started at $71,888. Currently at $75,600. # of Bids: 10. # of Hits: 2,171. 3 days 18 hours to go.
You gotta love this line from the description: "As you can see from my ebay feedback, I take great pride in my honest and professional dealings with clients. Your complete satisfaction is my top priority." He has a grand total of 14 feedbacks, only one of which is from a transaction where he actually sold something (he sold a piece of audio equip for $39).
I found a better deal on a 355 on ebay: Buy it now for $18,000. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=2473030312&rd=1 Can you believe the gall (sp?) of some people? I'll bet someone's gonna believe it, too. :|
Bidding is now up to 80K - surprise surprise, from a bidder with no feedback. If this guy does actually sell it and makes a profit on this car after putting 4,000 miles on it, then that's kind of the fault of whoever buys it.
I think that this auction is getting a little out of control.. 80K for this car??? I personally think that it is way too much for it. But if someone actually buys it for that price, I think that the seller will have made the best deal of his life!!! Buy the car for 71K, drive it for 5 months and 4K miles, and then sell it for 80K....
I can't seem to find the link showing that he bought the car for $71K a couple of months ago. Because of this, I can't tell if the early purchase price included the 30K. If it did, this seller is making out like a bandit. If it didn't, then the guy's probably just going to breakeven. Let me know if you can figure out whether he bought the car pre-serviced or not.
