Today i had a track day at the nicest circuit of the world:.... Spa-Francorchamps!!!!! :)
The weather wasn't so great but i still had a lot of fun!
I drove over 400 kms on the track (didn't count the laps! )
I was of course in my little Honda S2000 but there were some Ferraris also!! :) Two in fact: a yellow 355 F1 GTS and a red 355 Spider!
But the red 355 didn't drive that long! Had a spin and damaged his right side of the car pretty hard!!! :( It was a german, perhaps somebody of the site knows him???
The Belgian guy in the yellow 355 F1 GTS was a real nice man! Had some chatting and we drove one session behind each other! Playing a little bit :) I really was surprised i could keep up with him!! He said he was pushing pretty hard! 240 Bhp of mine against 380 of his, but i'm sure that if the weather was better, things would have been very differently!
I also ones almost lost control, during some rain, i entered 'les combes' a little bit too fast, but i just could catch it in time!!
This day was very learnfull for me!
Unfortunately the red 355 wasn't the only one who damaged his car :(
A young guy in a Ford mustang with over 300 Bhp (but not a very good handling  ) tried to follow me but when we went up the famous raidillon, it went totally wrong for him! :( Lost control and totalled his american muscle car into the wall! Good thing the driver was OK!
There was also this little racing Peugeot 106 which was totalled when he lost control in the very fast 'double left corner'! It rolled over a couple of times! The driver again was OK! A few others damaged their cars but this was not too badly!

I try to post some pictures (NOT of the crashed cars!!) in the weekend if i find some spare time! The ones i made are too big and i have to figure out how to make them smaller!

Right now, i'm gonna have some sleep, it was a very long day and tomorrow it's working day again! Got a lot to catch up now! :(

Sounds like a great day, even the weather could not spoil that much fun :)

Was it just an open track day, do you need to register ?
    How does this work ?

Sounds you had a lot of fun. I am surprised about the lot of damaged cars.
I have been on the same circuit last year at Spa-Italia. I think there were about 75 cars on the track but I didn't see any damaged cars.
Only one dutch Lancia Integrale blow up his engine.

About the drive on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit: really incredable.
If I think about that day again my adraline is flowing trough my vains very very hard. ( maybe bad englisch, but I think you all now what I mean :))

    Hi Guy,

wonderful to read your track day story. Thats ferarichat.com post I love to read. But very sad to hear about those accidents. God bless nobody gets hurt. About the German 355; please drop me a PM with his licence plate and I will have a look. Haven`t been at home last night so nobody coul call me.

Yes, Spa is to me one of the most exciting tracks! And I wrote in another post: its the little Nürburgring " Grüne Hölle". A wonderful surrounding, saml hills going up and down and you must be a very, very good driver to get a quick lap. Respect & take always care!!!!

    Bertus,
It really was a great day!! Driving at Spa..... even when it began snowing it was fun!! Yes indeed, it snowed for a while!!! I drove up to the raidillon in the snow!!!! Who else has done that??? The weather was very typical Francorchamps! One time the sun was shining at 'blanchimont', while at 'les combes' it was raining!! Really challenging!

About the track day, it was not really an open day for everyone.
It was organised by www.eranracing.be and you had to register for it! They organise every month such a track day at circuit Zolder and two times a year they go to Spa-Francorchamps!
The organisation was great and it cost me 260 Euros for 6 hours on the track! (i wasn't 6 hours on the track of course but still drove over 400 kms which was a lot apparently, most other participants drove 200-300 kms!)

    Guy,
Thanks for the wonderful pics and the PM;),
The yellow 355 looks absolut stunning, very well pictured!

    @Guy, yes I know him.
IMO don`t post pics from the accident or crashed car. He or anybody else could get in trouble with his insurance...race track, Belgium,......

It can't recall any sunshine on the Ferraridays. Maybe this year it is better because it is later in spring.

Hope to see a lot of you guys there.

    Dominik,
nice pic but WHY do they wear Winter-Jackets.....if it is so sunny & hot;)
I know, its the same with the Nürburgring: Always cold & wet! In many, many years driving to the Nürburgring only 1 time it was wonderful sunny!
