Awesome! How were the casinos down there? Did you play at all?

Wow, this thread is really timely... I'm trying to figure out a place to go for my honeymoon... the Bahamas may be the place!

Don't bother with Atlantis. Go to Ocean Club. It is a small colonial style hotel (one of the Leading Small Hotells of the World) that belongs to Atlantis (it is right next door). It is much more luxurious and not much more expensive then the Royal Towers in Atlantis. You can also use ALL of Atlantis's facilities for FREE. The main advantage is that it is much more exclusive, quiet. Atlantis is too much Disney Land. Nick Cage, M Jordan, and Tons of other celebrities stay there. My parents came back recently and loved it. I've personally been to Atlantis and visited the Ocean Club.

I've always heard good things about Atlantis so far. A few of my relatives went one year and they said it was amazing. I was actually putting together a trip with a few of my friends.

Glad to hear you had a wonderful stay at Atlantis! It truly is an amazing place...and that casino is HUGE!! In fact, the whole place is HUGE!

Took the family on the Disney cruise back in '01, and took a local "cab" over to visit the Atlantis while in port there. Spent nearly the whole day just wandering around the place, taking it all in. The kids really enjoyed the glass aquarium. Would love to stay there on a vacation some day. Any tips or advice you'd care to share regarding the Atlantis experience? Thanks, and take care good buddy!

    Eric,
    Great place for the kids......
Definitely do a package.....Much more feasable!
    The entire place is surreal.
I tried to load the pics this morning...something is wrong with my camera....I NEED HELP!!As far as the "Ocean Club" is concerned....we did have dinner there......the ambiance was fabulous! Not a place to stay with children...Nice for a couple though!
The casino is lovely....lost Bruce more than once!
Waterslides were incredible...didnt see the kids all day!!! (Yeah!):)

    Eric,
    Your more than welcome.....
Tell your wife .....look into the trip with a travel agent...you can more than likely get a better rate with a packlage from them.
Definitely stay in the "Royal Towers"...it is not only the nicest but is also centrally located!I will try and get my camera to upload the pics....

Thanks...I'll pass that along to her as well (she's already checking out the websites, etc.). She has a longtime travel agent contact / friend that she always books things through, so that sounds like the best plan. Looking forward to the pics...

If you go with kids definetly go to Royal Towers in Atlantis. As a couple i believe it is better to stay at Ocean Club and escape the crowds. (Atlantis is HUGE. It is Disney land.)

I went there a year ago and while I loved the resort, casino, night club, pools, slides, ect.. I was not that impressed with the food regardless of price and especially felt the service was not very good. The exception being Dune at the Ocen Club. I think the problem is that gratuity is already included in everything and hence most waiters don't really work very hard or really earn their tip. That being said I would go back and would like to soon. Any divers need to check out Stuart's Cove dive shop and go on a shark dive. Unbelievable dive that I will never forget; you can buy a video of your dive to take home.

Atlantis is a cool place, I liked it much better back in the 90s "Pre Disney land". Totally layed back, way less people, not so commercial. My wife and I would take a Thurs to Tue fling a few times a year for about $1000.00 complete, less food, that included both of us. Boy have things changed in just a few years. It is still in my opinion an awesome place to enjoy good food, great water ,casino ect. If you want to treat your lady to something special, take a taxi to Nassau and have dinner at Graycliff a true 5 star restuarant. Or better yet go to Graycliffs former maitre D' Willie Armsrtrongs new place "Chez Willies " to dine, and tell him "Chief " or that Glen sent you. You won't be disappointed!
