Your experiences with them? Good? Bad? How about their rates? Turn around time? Thanks!!
Robert and Cindy are Most Excellent! However, you'll have to wait til Tuesday to call; Robert is at Hallett this weekend. If you read the link, you'll have discovered Robert is Very Talented, his rates are very reasonable and the turn-around is pretty quick. When you call or bring your car there, they can give you an estimate of when it will be finished.
What Marci did not mention is we have used Shadetree for many years, for many different cars. There turn around time will very depending on if you made an appointment in advance or not, and depending on what you want done. They have worked on everything for us from my old Biturbo to my Maserati Indy, Ferrari, Lancias etc. Robert views all the cars as his and you just get to drive them. Many times my cars come back with something fixed I had not mentioned and was not charged for just because he could not stand the noise, window movement etc. Overall he is greatly more finicky about the cars than I. Rodney
How are they with air conditioning? I think my 308 has a coolant leak, and I need to find out for sure and where. I think I really need a hardcore A/C specialist, but one familiar with 308s.
I had it charged/serviced in November 2002, but it was chilly then, so didn't try it out until the summer. There was no difference in the air temp out of the vents with it on or off. I really missed driving it last summer...
Ssshhh! The NSA is already watching me enough for just being SEEN with Ron. I don't know how Stephanie takes the scrutiny, haha.
If you have an A/C problem Shadetree is where to take it. Robert greatly upgraded the A/C system in my 365 building a custom evaporator and condenser. It now actually cools. I had him build a complety custom A/C for my FIAT. He took out the back seat and added a second A/C system. The car is now basically a small refrigeration truck. I can get the cabin temp down to 55 in August. I am considering putting one of those Fish stickers on the back that refrigeration trucks have to put on when they have transported fish My wife now travels with a blanket so she does not freeze to death.
I am going to be out there some time tomorrow myself. Trading the Ferrari for my Maserati Indy. Normal stuff of the Indy, but the Ferrari it's the damm POC Stebro exhaust. The stainless is so thin it cracks on a regular basis. Robert had warned me when I originally ordered it, but .. seemed like a good idea. So now Robert is going to call them and see if they will make good on their warranty. Either that or I just order an ANSA. Good luck. I normal A/C service and leak fix should not be all that much. Rodney
Thanks, I may try them out. Maybe even check into a compressor conversion to something more efficient.
Rodney, how was everything at Shade Tree? I'm still awaiting the "news" (hopefully good to decent) on my 348.
I was there yesterday before your car arrived. I just dropped off my Ferrari and picked up the Maserati. I will ask Robert about it on Tuesday. He was going to call Stebro for me and raise hell about my mufflers. My Ferrari is just in for a quick look so he can figure out how much to yell at Stebro or if we just have to order another exhaust. Marci is going to pick up the Ferrari next week and drop off her Maserati. She can update you then I am sure.
no problems here .robert did a grait job on my car.deler was going to charge $2,000.robert charged$432.00.
No problem, Rodney. I have to be the most impatient person on the earth, but I am NOT going to call Robert and start pestering about my car. I'd just as soon he take his time and not worry with meeting a certain time frame. What's a few days or a week extra anyway? I am anxious to go see their shop someday, though. Take care.
Rodney: GREAT NEWS (at least I think). I just talked with Cindy and it's the throw-out bearing. The Shade Tree people are the friendliest I have run across in a long time. Thanks again for referring me.
