How much do you expect the average 550 to depreciate in the next 5 years?

    For some reason I can't see, the 550 has been seriously underappreciated since it came out 7 years ago. It's in my best interest for them to keep dropping so I can get one earlier, so what's your take on it?

    my guess is that it wont go much below 25% of original sales price. i picked mine up 3 months ago @ 55 K GBP or 32% of original sale price.

    Thing is this car is great and i believe it will be re-discovered in not too long. usually it is safe to buy cars when they are 6-7 year old.

    I think the 1997 model will go as low as $100k max and 2001 the latest will be in $130k in 5 years, just my silly prediction

    Agree. A current 1997 priced right should be going for around $110K-ish. I'm a buyer at $100K.

    I saw 2 in $100K for 97 & 98. Both needed a major service, the color combo isn't popular (silver w/ bordeau-red, etc.) so additonal $7 to 8K. IMO, it is the best buy model for modern Ferrari! However, it could go down to as much as $80K in 3-4 years, as some salesmen advised based on the current 575 demand, and after the replacement is released. If that ever happened, I'll be a happy 550 owner for sure!

    I dont think it will go down that much over the next 3 years. It has pretty much taken its hit and will go down gradually from now. That is - for well maintained, solid cars. The 550 is becoming a lot of car for the money. The 575 will go the same way, they are too similar.
