Yes, they are Tony - but being resin bodied, with lots of photo-etch, they are rather too fragile to race (IMHO). They are also a 'little' on the expensive side ! Single (built) cars retail around the £140-150 mark although the kits are a bit cheaper. The Daytona 1-2-3 Ltd. Edition - Well - I've just bought mine, fortunately, but I have seen these advertised for as much as £550 !!!

Below are a couple of shots from my Fiorano track: A P4 from Fly (no magnet) and the Scalextric GT40. I found the 250 GTO, but it didn't run fast anymore, so I used the body and mounted it onto the red GT40 from Scalextric. Even the front lights work and it is now just as fast as the light blue GT40 and makes for nice races.

    Your 'Fly P4' looks horribly like a 512S ....
I wish Fly had done the P4 - they would have been a lot cheaper than the Racer ones, and probably more detailed.
    Tony.
Did you realise that Fly have started bringing out GT40's now ? They're doing some of the more obscure liveries.
I guess Scalextric beat them to production by a year or so - the Fly cars were originally announced for 2003.

Well in truth, I paid somewhat less (for a bulk order of them), for myself and some fellow P4 replica owners.
One guy bought 2 of them - so he could race the cars - keep the other for show. Mine ? It came out of the box and straight into the display cabinet - and that's where it's staying !

Oops. You're right of course. My bad.

Tony, actually in my home office. Half of the track is mounted to a removable board, the other half is permanent. On table height, so underneath is a lot of storage room. Hey, it's all about priorities in life, isn't it?

    Well Tony .....
I haven't been posting to FerrariChat very long, but I suspect most people who follow the P4-related threads already know my feelings on this matter. So - at the risk of getting shot down by the JG Tifosi (once again) .....
On various occasions in his umpteen posts on the subject, Jim Glickenhaus has hinted at claims to the provenance of chassis #0846. This is an anathema to me, because what he is building is a 330P4 Berlinetta.
#0846 started life as a P3 Spyder and was subsequently converted into a P3/4 Spider, and that is how it ended it's competition career at Le Mans in 1967. To most P4 enthusiasts, #0846's most famous victory was the 1967 Daytona 24Hrs - as the #23 car on the diorama. This car is also available seperately from Racer as RCR08, whereas the #24 and #26 cars are only available in the limited edition set.

P.S. If this post takes your thread down a 'rathole' - please accept my apologies - But you have only yourself to blame - for asking an outwardly innocent question. You just asked the wrong person !

Yup, according to Jim, that's the car.

BTW: One of Jim's friends owns the black GT40 that was at last year's Goodwood Festival of speed and consequently made it into the special Scalextric set of three GT 40.
