I was looking at a TR, had always wanted one. I found a nice looking 91, but being 6'3" and 235lbs, I could barely fit it in the car. I was shattered that ownership of this beauty was not meant to be.

How does the 328 compare for some one of my build? How about maintenance and general upkeap? Are they difficult to work on, or is a specialist required?

I'm 6' and the 328 was 'cosy', with the roof behind the seats it was even more so, I reckon you might struggle with those extra 3", by comparison my 355 is much more roomy

You're not going to fit comfortably I'm afraid.

Depending on how accurate our respective tape measures are, I'm a smidge taller but could not fit properly at all. Managed to drive on at one of those "fun hire" days. But more than 10mins at the wheel wouldn't work.

A 348 probably would (in GTB form), and a 355 GTB definitely, definitely would...

Probably not the news you wanted :(

    Max,

I am 6"4 and I thought that I was comfortable in my 328 GTS. But now I realize that on long distances I am a not as comfortable as I thought. For that reason I have put my 328 for sale. I am going for a little bit more modern (read more spacious) Ferrari.
In contrary to what you might think it is more comfortable with the roof on. The seat will tilt backwards just a little bit more. Nevertheless it is OK for short distances. It still is an awesome car!

I am 6'3", and fit just about right in the car. The head room is very lacking for me, but the leg room is more then adequate. To compensate, my seat back is at almost a 60 degree angle.

Its comfy but my neck gets tired on long drives without a head rest. As such I am looking into aftermarket seats.

    In TRs I fit perfect.

I am 6' 4" (190 lbs.) and fit "okay" in my 328. But everyone is different. I usually drive it about an hour at a time and it is fine. Roof on or in the garage. If it is behind the seats, my eyes are in line with the top of the windshield frame.

I had a 328 years ago and was starting to miss it. I went to look at one last week and forgot how tight 6' was in it. I couldnt even hit the clutch without hitting the brake. I road tested a F355 they also had, much roomier, and needless to tell about the rest, and I was sold. Mine should be here in a few weeks.

    Please note:

A 328 GTB has more headroom than a GTS with its roof on. I am 6' and sit relatively upright and still have 2 more inches. A GTB may work for you.

    Hey guys,
I am also looking at a 328. I am 6'4" and around 225. I can wedge into a '79 308 GTS, but was wondering if the 328 offered a little more space for my boat-size 12's (and legs maybe!) with the different console? I would imagine interior dimensions of the 328 are identical to that of the 308? I wish they had just another couple of inches! I read somewhere where Tom Seleck's 308 (seat? mounting?) was modified to fit his frame - which is very similar to mine. Does anyone have any details on this (or is it urban myth!)? The way he used to jump in and out of that thing - they had to have done something!
    Thanks,
    Jim

I've owned both a 328GTS and a '91 TR. I am 6' - 0" and about 195 lbs. I fit better in the TR than the 328GTS. After about 1 1/2 hrs in the 328, I was ready to get out! Not very comfortable on the back. The TR was much more comfortable, but....a completely different car. I now have an F355 which is my favorite Ferrari yet!

all depends on whether your height is in legs or torso...

if in legs, then knees out is the only way to fit(this is way i do it).

if in torso, tilt the seat until you're looking up at the ceiling... :)

if you're a 'wide body', gawd, it'll be tight...i once saw a guy get into a 308 at a shop i was hangin' at, he had to pour himself into the car, looked like a 5 yr. old kid jammed into a toy car...

Good point about GTB vs. GTS, there's a bit more/less room depending upon which model you go for...

As for Selleck, note that he -never- drove the 308 with the roof on, and you if you see a front shot of him driving, you can see the top of his head stick out above the roof line.
Dunno how the hell he saw anything driving that baby.

Saw him once on tawk show yrs ago, someone phoned in a question about which Ferrari he liked/would own, he mentioned the Mondial, mainly cuz he'd fit into it.
