A new Ferrari club has formed in Charlotte, NC - "CAFE" Charlotte Area Ferrari Enthusiasts. We presently have over 20 members on our roster and try to gather every two weeks for the "Three Fs" - Ferraris, Food & Fun! If interested in joining us for future gatherings, please email me at [email protected](note: there is a an "underscore" between my names)
That's great! The more the merrier! I have access to the Ferrari Club of America Southeast Region roster, and we do have a number of members in the Charlotte area. The FCA can help advertise some of your events and help out in other ways as well. NC Chapter co-Chair Wade Nunez will be moving his car dealership there within the next month or so, and will providing services to the club, including a place to meet to watch Formula-One on big screen, etc. If I can help, let me know. Wade can be reached at [email protected] and is active on FerrariChat. The other NC co-Chair who is a long-time FCA member and resident of NC is Bob Snow <[email protected]>, also active here on FerrariChat. I can be reached at [email protected] and via our club website at www.fca-se.com Mike Charness Regional Director
I'm in! Sent PM, awaiting reply. Mike, I sent my FCA membership dues about a week ago (mainly because I want to attend VIR track day), but haven't received any confirmation of my dues/membership yet. Is that something you can investigate, or should I contact Bob Snow? -Daniel
Daniel: I'd normally do it, but I'm just about to leave for New Zealand and Australia. Bob can do it, but better yet, contact the person who handles the membership at the national level, and that's Chris Ahlgrim at <[email protected]> or call her at 770-642-2443 and she can at least tell you your membership number so you can have it for the VIR sign-up if needed. Mike

Coachi -- that group is getting together THIS weekend in Huntersville NC (about 20 miles north of Charlotte). Weather permitting, I'll run down and say hello too. -Daniel
John - Are you coming from Raleigh or Asheville? If you're coming from Raleigh, let me know and we could meet in Winston-Salem then convoy from there. I've got to map a better route to Huntersville than I-40/I-77. Those are death traps for a nice clear windshield. -Daniel
Nope, Sorry but I am in BR this week so i will be comming down 321 and then up 77 from Charlotte. It is highly likely that I WILL be going BACK to Raleigh though!!!!! So we could Convoy back there Rubber Duck!!!! DrS

sorry i won't be able to make the BBQ sat. but please don't hold it against me. we're having a big race at my track that day and i probably should be there. i'm so glad to see more local events and will be glad to help any way i can. i,m a member at bermuda run country club and i'm sure i could plan a get together there. we have a huge parking area and a great bar/rest. i could even get the club to do a italian food /wine party for us. just a idea.... so have fun and i hope to see you soon.
There are a number of us that live in the South Charlotte area so it will be easy to meet up at the Ballantyne Resort Spa at noon. Anyone who wants to head up with us is more than welcome!
Can you post some directions to it from gastonia???? that is the way i will be coming from. (down 321 from Blowing Rock)
Sure, simply take 85 into Charlotte. Then 77 South to 485 South or East - I can't remember which it says (just don't go North or West). Either way, you'll cross over 77 on a large overpass. Exit 61 - Johnston Road (South). Left at the first light into the Ballantyne Resort parking lot. Spa is located at that entrance. We'd certainly enjoy having you for the drive up but keep in mind that once you hit 77, you'll actually be backtracking. We'll be going above 85 on 77 to get to Doug & Debi's place. See ya tomorrow!
