Please understand that I'm new to the board. I have owned 04799 since august '02 and have put 9,000 miles on it to this point, including 200 track miles and 3000 road rally miles. 04799 has 46,000 miles on it and has been driven hard; it has been through many performance challenges. It is probably the best sorted 50 in the world and I'm really prividged to own it. The article in evo was spot on regarding the 50. I'm planning to run it @ laguna seca during the FCA convention track days in august. If any members of this board would like to stop by the paddock, I'd certainly enjoy meeting you.
hello DBH. show us some pictures of you with 4799, it would be great. Please fill in your profile, most of us like the information. greetings, vincent
hello Vincent, Thanks for the welcome. I'll have to ask my wife how to post pictures. I hate to admit it but I'm a bit of a dinosaur with this technology. In the meantime there should be lots pictures from the thread that DES posted on the french quarter classic. That thread had a very high number of hits; 04799 is the black F50 [the only F50] at the concours event. Dan
Dan, it was a real pleasure meeting you down there; having had the chance to chat with you, it was a no-brainer that that F50 is in good hands... Congratulations on not only being an owner, but for being a DRIVER as well... By the way folks, that's not just any F50, that's the infamous F50K...!
I'll be there!! The F50 is my dream car... I love the 360's looks largely because they are similar to the F50's lines. And the F50 in black is awesome! Oh, and if you ever need a passenger at any of the track days, just let me know... I'll gladly volunteer for that "duty"!
Thanks to everyone for the recognition; I now recognize some of you from the event last october and b4. I don't know what the FCA passenger rules are for laguna, but if it can be done we'll do it. I am hoping to have a video camera mounted somehow in the car; we'll see if that really gets off the ground.
This is the one at Ferrari of Dallas. Very tempting for the price. Wish Enzo is at that price. Not bad to add the collection in the garage,
DBH, your car made me re-fall in love with the f50 I LOVE this car, maybe more than the enzo, so visceral, with the raw feel from the way that engine is mounted...the open top, the 8500 rpm redline, and a 6 SPEED! not to mention trouble free STEEL brakes! haha. kudos, true perfection!
Bostonmini, thanks for the praise of the 50. It's a true and faithful machine. It seems that it has taken a long time for it to gather a following and get the respect that the 40 has had. And the 40 certainly deserves great respect.
