Trust me on this one, Ferrari's own records confirm that despite what all the books and experts have said for years, Ferrari completed this car as an "Export" on a short wheelbase chassis, then sold and invoiced the car as such.

The begining photo in this thread is one i shot when I was using the car as a daily driver.

This car was sold new without coachwork to Switzerland.

I raced the car in the Ferrari / Shell Series a few years ago and also ran the car in the Mille Miglia.

It is the one and only example with this coachwork. Originally it had split windshield and no bumperettes. The windshield was changed and the bumperettes added in the second year of the car's life before it was sold to its first private owner.

    Very fun car.

I sold it to a nice man in New Zealand.

    Ciao!

I actually floundered around looking for Exports, then checked Inters and found it. IIRC, there was another ghia-aigle Inter, SN was 10-15 away?
Lovely little car, I don't remember many with concave grilles either..was that a later mod? or do we know?
How's LJ Bill? I miss my place on Prospect :(

It used to have a different nose, which can hardly be described as very dramatic but it fitted very well into sleek lines of this car. It also had a very small hoos scoop. The 2-piece wind shield certainly made it look a lot lower!

Is it known which car was the wind shield taken from?

    Best wishes, Kare

Thanks for the info. I certainly hope I see the car at some classic meets. One guy I was talking to remembered the car at the Mille Miglia last year.

    Hi Dax,

Yes I did take the photo myself, sorry I did not get the framing quite right it just cuts the front corners off.

I was only in Gambattola for the day just to see the cars arrive, I spent 3hrs standing in 50c sun on the red carpet taking photo`s of all the Ferraris.

I will post the others if you would like to see them, let me know.

    Regards.

    Phil.

    Hi Dax, JMJ575M,

I will dig them out and post them for you all, might not be today as they all need to be reduced in size so that I can post them here.

    Hi trkevin,

No I don`t go every year, in fact this was my first time at the event. I was in on a MG Car Club event in the area and we drove 120 MG`s from where we were staying just to see the Mille Miglia cars drive into Gambattola.

Here are some of the photo`s

    Regards.

    Phil.
