We used to deal with scorpions on an almost daily basis when I was a UN peacekeepr in Egypt. Never had a spider problem per say....but it was the same concern.

I'd just have to set up claymores all around me in a tight 360 then.

LOL, claymores...? What are those, land mines...? How sensitive are they...? i would assume they have sensitivity adjustors, no...? If so, a spider might not set them off; something else could set them off, like wind or rolling sand or whatever... Some other animal could set them off... How close would these things be to you...? Not terribly close, i would imagine, so you would need a lot... i think, unless set to a super sensitive degree, a spider could walk right over a land mine and not set it off... - DAMN, i hate spiders...!

Claymores are set off with a clacker than you squeeze when you want them to go off. Id just stay up all night with NVGs on and scan the peremiter for the spiders. I wouldnt even fight the war I'd just be at war with the spiders. And when I finnaly killed them all I'd steal there oil after I was done.

Picture isnt working for me but I was in Iraq for the war in April of last year and I dont recall any spiders that did this? Norn did I recieve any briefs of said spiders :D

Although I did pick up a bunch of the republican guard that were all shot to pieces so maybe it was the spiders and not the marines that did it to them?????

    Interesting

Hooooleeeee crap. Like DES/NNO and Chaa, spiders, centipedes and scorpions are things I can't handle. Man, 10MPH is blazing!! It's like the facehuggers from Aliens.

While living in Hawaii (in the basement of a Samoan family's house in the middle of a banana patch), I woke up at 3am to find one of these crawling down my forearm... I turned the light on it was skittering down my belly.
