Just saw an article with photos in the new Top Gear magazine featuring the new Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. I don't know what to make of the styling from the photos. Looks a bit odd from the front, but guess I have to see it in person to really appreciate it. The interior looks really nice, though no manual stick option will be available, which is a shame I think. :-( Performance figures look quite decent for a 2+2. Wonder if it will sell better than the 456. So, what do you all think?
I think we should have a poll on how many times the styling of the 612 has been questioned on this site Unfortunately we cannot change Ferrari, other than by not buying it. Unfortunatelt there are enough idiots that would buy a rough sawn piece of wood that had the Ferrari label on it! I would not buy it, as it is ugly, but that is simply my opinion. Pete
Ooops, didn't know that this topic has been talked to the ground already. I've been so busy lately that I've been on the site only a few times during the past several weeks.
Here to help you out, as this site does move along : http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=970 http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1002 http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=833 http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=310 The last one had a lot of responses ... , Enjoy. You have to compare it to the 456 and not to the 575, and then I think it is a huge improvement. Also, it has a great interior. Rijk
I'd give it a "B" for a rational good-looking PF 2+2 design style-wise so how about adding an "OK" category? Would agree it could use some more cutouts/openings/curves to jazz it up a little (F should definitely rip-off their own older designs more). In the concept drawings they're always shown a little sleeker/rakier/trimmer than reality so when the real thing shows up it's always more plain (especially on 2+2s) -- seems a mistake to keep doing that -- JMOs.
Whats with the stupid 'Smiley' grill opening? RX8 same thing, Miata same thing.........gee a trend or something?
There will be a manual 6 speed available as well not just the F1. Luca M has already stated that while he is at Ferrari the normal production cars will always offer a Manual.
I'll have wait until I see it person to make a final judgement. The front, headlights in particular remind me of a P-car 968.
