Hey folks, I am thinking about making a custom exhaust for my car (not an F car). In said exhaust, I would like to use the muffler from a 360 Modena. It is a nice looking muffler that I believe is made out of stainless steel (much better than most of the cast iron ones you buy from flowmaster). I have been doing a bit of research on muffler design and I have come across an alarming discovery. Some mufflers use packed fiberglass to muffle the sound. In many cases this fiberglass will melt with age/hard use and begin to clog the exhaust system. This would damage the engine. Do any of you folks know if the 360 Modena muffler uses packed fiberglass? If not, what method does the 360 muffler use to muffle the sound? Thanks for any replies!
