Low Profile Jack Stands?

    Does anyone know where you can get a set of low profile jack stands? I have a set that is 12 inches high but would like some even shorter.

    The MVP pro-lift stands I use are just under 1 foot tall when fully collapsed...
    I use a low profile floor jack to get the car to height then adjust the jack stands to the desired height.
    Can I ask why you would want shorter stands?

    I found a set of 10.5 but am still looking for shorter. 9 1/2 would be ideal.

    I have a set of Craftsman's finest. Quite short. 3 ton rating as I recall. Also a set of Snap-On 5 ton. Much taller which is helpful for getting under the car. One point I've not heard before on jack stands, I'd strongly advise getting a larger saddle as you can on the stand and get the stand with as wide a base as you can find.
    I've nearly had the car topple from the shorter ones.

    I use 12"x10" douglas fir cut into 15" lengths. I've found it's nearly impossible for these to fall over. They can be adjusted up using 15" long 2"x6"s or 2"x4"s.

    OK, so they're ugly but they give me warm comfy feeling when I'm under the car.

    Don't know the national annual count for jack stand deaths but I'm sure its higher than the death count for timber users.

    That is a good idea. I might get a piece cut. Do you get them at Home Depot? I just want to get a 9 1/2 in high piece. Thanks.
