Hi, Everyone I'm Ed from Winston Salem, NC. I'm helping a friend resurrect a formerly salvaged 512TR, and someday hope to have an F40 for myself. I'm currently in "family vehicle" mode, until the teens fly the coup. I can get away for a weekend, I'd like to meet up with you guys if you do anything at VIR. Speaking of F40 nuts, anyone ever seen this website? http://www.ferrarif40.de/slideshow.htm
Hi Ed, Welcome to the European board! Do you have some pictures of the TR that you are working on? Wanting an F40 he? I wish you good luck on your search for one of these beauties. Ton
Hi, Ton, I don't have any pictures at the moment. The car has been mostly repaired, and done very well, it just needs some finishing work. It was just superficial panel damage. I'll post some pics to the website when I get them. F40s are hard to find, for sure, but hey, if you're going to dream, do it big. Ed
welcome to the board ED! never a dull moment here, and the ferrari info is great too ( joke) ................michael
Hello everybody, I am a new member as well. I live in New Orleans, LA and one of my neighbors (well, down the street from me) has a 198? 328GTS, and seems to be an active member in the Ferrari club down here, and occasionally has 2 or 3 Ferraris in front of his house (an F50 once!) I don't have a Ferrari (yet...), but I am a big fan, so... -Jonathan
Hi Jonathan, A warm welcome to you too! You will definitely enjoy this board. Did your neighbour already take you for a ride? Live your dream! Ton
Hi Jonathan and Ed, Welcome to the board! I think you've both picked a good time to become a part of the Ferrarichat community. With the weather turning colder (frigid here in Nashville today), we tifosi tends to spend more time indoors, hunkered down in front of our monitors... Crawford
Thanks for the warm welcome, maybe sometime soon I will get to know my Ferrari neighbor and he will give me a ride.
Also, thanks for the warm welcome. Would anyone here have a line on anyone parting out a '92 512TR? At the moment, we're looking for a good used rear glass. There's a slight crack in this one, and the dealer wants $1700 for a new one. Ed
Yep. It was stolen from a lot and wasn't recovered until after they had paid the claim, thus the salvage title. Ed
I'm also new here...I'm Jeroen and I live in Belgium. I'm only 14 years old but already a real Ferrari freak...
Hello from Asheville, NC No Ferrari yet! but I'm in the market right now for a car. Just haven't found what I'm looking for or nothing has screamed buy me yet. Also a car nut, so if there are any meets down your way let me know. I went to Foreign Cars Italia about a month ago. Jeremy
Yeah Vic B. from Foreign cars used to work there and now he is back at Foreign cars. Haven't been by the store, but I check their site once in awhile. Just curious but where did your friend pick up the 512?
Welcome to FerrariChat Jonathan, Ed and Jeroen! A great forum with some very knowledgeable and friendly folks.
The 512 was bought out of St Louis. It was on Ebay a few months back, that got the dialogs started, they worked the figures to death, trade ins, etc. The car was supposed to have been from Chicago. I'm sure we'll uncover the history at some stage soon. Its black, has just over 15k on the clock, time for a good servicing, I can't wait to dig into it. Ed
