My econ prof taught at a Chinese university on a Fulbright. The school's motto that year was written above the chalkboard in large, imposing, red Roman letters: "I AM NOBODY" She struggled for weeks to get the students to take it down as the Fulbright US Director was coming to visit. They finally agreed to do it, but only if everyone helped simultaneously pulling off only part of each letter, so that no one person had done it alone nor had any one person made a culpable decision. That's sad.
