I'll be there, finally an event when i can sleep in, i can virtually walk there, i'm only about a mile up the road... Hopefully it's nice out, will bring the 328 so i don't look out of place parking a Dodge Truck next to a Lambo.... HAH!
I am planning on going, too. So far,Weather says Sunny and in the 60's...who knows by then....I really like to stop by there as often as I can,to check out their always Fine selection...
I'll be there either way...but,weather permitting,it will either be in my Ferrari. Or,my Wife's PT Cruiser with a Ferrari Sticker on the back window... But,so far. I've seen...NO Rain for Saturday....we will see......
Has anyone confirmed this yet??? Just been seeing everyone that is comming but no confirmation if this class is still on?? Maybe Michael W knows??? Or Mike E ??? ***** NEVER MIND **** Just Saw Michael's thread up above... Andreas, you can delete this if you like.... It's late, i'm not thinking straight....
Yep, the detail clinic is still on. We look forward to seeing all of you! Michael Wogronic Fox Valley Motorcars - Lamborghini Chicago
BTW...Andreas. If it's raining on Saturday, and you still want to attend, but don't want to drive your Ferrari. Just take the UP/Metra WEST Line, out to Elmhurst or Lombard,(get a Round Trip ticket. I have a Schedule around here somewhere, and I'll check the times.) And I'll gladly pick you up in the Wife's Buggy.... Thats what I'll be driving there if it's raining... At least it has a Cavalino on it....
By the way, how long do you guys think you'll be there? I'm playing out near Elmhurst, so if it's going on for a while I'll stop by. (1 pm-ish?)
Chelle....PLEASE bring out the Blue lambo. I really want to see that Baby! I bet that everyone else does,too...Especially,the Guys at the Lamborghini Dealership... They always have a very nice, varied selection of Autoexotica there. Last time that I was there, they had a White Countach with Black interior. Along with Diablo's,Murcielago's,and Gallardo's. Also,a really,REALLY nice F40......They had a White Pantera a few Months back, but it is gone.
I just hope they don't have a Black Countach sitting around there for sale... That would not help me at all.... Thats my other dream car besides the 328... The dealer i bought my 328 from down in Florida had one, thank god it was in another building, they said we could go look at it, it was Black and in Mint condition they said. I said NO, didn't want to see it, i probably would have left owning both of them rather than just the 328... HAHAHA...
Tod, believe me, you really don't want a Countach! They're great to look at, but not great to drive. The windows only open about 6", which is great fun when you come to a toll booth on a hot summer day, or your A/C fails. It's virtually impossible to see anything while going in reverse, without having the drivers door open and sitting on the doorsill, trying to work the pedals. Even if you have the rearview camera, it doesn't help much; believe me, I know. Tod, if you're looking for a 'Wicked Wench' that's great to look at, but not ride, buy a Countach! Nuf' said?
Skip, A few people on Fchat and a few that I have met said that Ferrari is prestigious, but the mind blowing performance of the Lambos can't be beat. Frank and I have talked about how Fcars hold their visual beauty more through the years, but the new Gallardo looks so tempting. I am curious on when, where and why did you try out a Countach? According to their website, LFSC has got a low mileage 328 and 512BB just in for any of you looking for a trade. RocketBoy
And,don't get me wrong, here. I am Faithful to Ferrari. But,I still love Lambo's,too. They will be coming out with a topless "Spider" version of both the Murcielago, and the Gallardo soon. Saw it in Road and Track...they look "Mahhhhvelous!!!"
I agree. And Ferrari could really get some styling ideas from the Gallardo and the Murcie. They do look sharp, raw edges and all. Low Cw numbers are nice, but let's be honest who of the Ferrari crowd cares about saving a gallon at the pump vs having a cool looking beast? The Enzo is a step in the right direction. The Scaglietti is not. Let's hope the 420 comes out edgier than its predecessor.
That was one great and interesting event organized by FCA and Fox Valley Motors. Gary Kouba is a great speaker and cleared up some of the urban myths about car detailing products. Was also good to see some old friends again: Dave, Tod, Mike E., Bob (and son), Frank and Helmut. And of course Mike from FVM. For those who missed it, but would still like to read up on it, here is Gary's website: www.perfectautofinish.com For once the parking lot wasn't "just" Ferraris, but also Cobras and Vettes.
Yup...gotta love those Cobra's...Lots of Power in a small, light car.....I saw them all congregated at D & M Motorsports on North Av. on my way home. I think that they sell them there also. Saw a new Viper SRT10 on the way home, too. Awesome car. Looks great. 500 HP,500 FT/LBS of Torque from a 10 cylinder engine.Very cool. Like a Modern day Cobra. Great seminar. I thank Fox Valley Motors for putting it on! We love our cars, and anything that we can learn in order to keep them Beautiful is certainly well appreciated. Kim and Chelle...where were you guys? I really wanted to see your Blue Lamborghini! Also,Dan Giacalone. Glad to see you,and even more Happy to see that, you too, have realized that Dream of Ferrari ownership! Welcome aboard! Now,we have to get your Buddy into one... He can keep the '04 'Vette,too... (I had one of each for the past 3 1/2 years. Nothing wrong with that.... ) But,I just Sold my Vette,so,now I have an empty space in my Garage.... I think it needs a 12 cylinder car in that spot!
David- I didn't just tryout a Countach, I owned one. Remind me to tell all of you my views on Lambos (specifically Countachs & Diablos, at our next get-together).
