Great car! Great pics! Thanks for sharing! :D

Reminds me of the day I saw a 250 GTO in real live for the first time myself, back in 1992, in Brussels/Belgium. Does anyone know or remember the FF40 event in that year(yes, two F's, Ferrari/Francorchamps)? It was great! I loved Ferrari's before that day, but I really got hooked there! A great collection was gathered there to celebrate the 40th anniversairy of Ferrari imports in Belgium by Garage Francorchamps... I should post these pics here! Will do it soon if I got the time. (have to scan them first).

I just did a search... Of course pics of that event are already avaiable on the net too... Take a look at barchetta.cc f.e. to see what I'm talking about... :D
    http://www.barchetta.cc/All.Ferraris/events-stories/events/2003/ff40/ff40-index/
The first day the event took place in Brussels, the second day at Spa Francorchamps... As you can see... really amazing!!! :D I was 15 and it was the first time I saw that amount of Ferrari's all together!!! And you see wich models! It was the first and best big Ferrari meeting I ever went too. The 456gt was presented there too. I'm really Ferrari addicted since then.
Glory days... I was in a dream all the time...
Did you see the black 250 GTO '62 s/n 3589??? That's the first one I saw :) And that beauty... and.. and... Take a look at the pics, you'll see what I mean!! Seeing those pics now... I want to experience that again!!!

John, 3445 actually started its life as red but Ulf Norinder ended up painting it in the Sweedish racing colors. Also, it is no longer in the Matsuda collection but has come to the United States now to Charles Arnott.

Yes, that car was recently sold to Arnott by Matsuda through Mr. Noon, if i recall correctly... No longer in Florida for the Cavallino Classic, it's now in Maryland, from what i understand... :)

A friend of mine is one of the former owners of that car. I photographed it at Roebling Road several years ago when it was red (original was blue in 62 & has be resored to that). I also rode in it on track that day. You are right, the second 250GT produced. Posting one of the photos I took & one of it taken in 62 -thats Enzo to the right in the hat. BTW, those 2 holes in the tail are where my friend drilled to attach a license plate so he could drive on the street!!!

Hmm, looks like it has its fuel filler on the left side. Interesting.

So the question is, is 4491 LHD or RHD?

Amazing! So the fuel filler switches sides with the driver. Makes actually sense. Interesting.

No, no, no. I think he was stating that the vehicle was RHD in order to support the fact that the photo with the fuel filler on the right side hadn't been flipped. There are other RHD GTOs with fuel fillers on the left side of the car.

    I thought all GTO's were RHD? ... I guess I am wrong?

It was a racing car thus why make LHD ... as 95% of tracks suit RHD ...
