Brian, you're going to LOVE it!

Not to sound corny, but the CS is really the "car of my dreams." Besides tending to draw a crowd wherever I park it - odd, I didn't expect that - I love everything about it. Even the guys who thought I was crazy to trade in my Spider for it admit after seing it that there is no comparision.

100% authentic "boy racer" - deluxe model of course!

Fantastic Brian, just fantastic. This is one I really want to see pictures of, ie. to see your colour choice.

How the hell did I miss this thread?

I jumped out of my chair when I saw the author's name below the thread title. Grabbed a beer to toast you with while I was up, too! After all, as much as I (heart) Vintage, your tales of woe have left me no choice but to have this be the news to rejoice at.

Hoists Miller Lite: A Toast... Tastes great! Less filling! No, wait...
May Salus, the Roman goddess of health and prosperity bless you and yours.

It was Titanium with Navy Interior... though it did have red calipers.

Now, everybody pray for this north Texas rain to go away!
Or, more secularly, everyone repeat with me... uh, how does that go?... where's my kid...

Rain, rain, go away, come again... uh, some non-track-day in June...

    ;)

Yes, at TWS tomorrow. But given it'll be a "break the car in" track session, I'll probably opt for a lower-key trip to MSRanch tomorrow... all contingent upon this darn rain!

I can go get it now... but its pouring rain... so, I am going to wait a bit, hoping it clears up some... seems a shame to squander the nice detail job they've done... but not having it tomorrow (which should be sunnier) would be too painful, I think... I'll just have to plan some time to bathe it tomorrow.

I know Kieth also( from Viper board). We think alike both bought Gallardos!

And besides Brian how could you be a Moderator on F-chat not owning a Ferrari and only a Gallardo?
Plus you would have to change your screen name to "Brian C. Gallardo"!!
    Ha!
    Enjoy the car!!!!!!!!

Hmmm...that means it's still there. FoD is only a few short miles from my house. I guess now I have something to do! :D

Congrats Brian, you've waited a long time. I can't wait to chase you during the poker run.

Thanks for all the positive comments... nice to have friends that can appreciate both the pains and the joys of your passions...

And, yes, I will get pics up here later today! Promise!
Coming to this thread in the not too distant future...

    Photos later today...
Driving stories (perhaps from the track, even) tomorrow...
Maybe some in-car video (though it may be inverted)...
I may go show it off tomorrow evening also at the F1-replay-watching party...
    And then lunch Thursday...
    I'll weigh it sometime soon...
lots more track time during May...
and I'm scheduled to dyno it on May 29th...

Not sure if I'll be able to do the Poker Run this year... my daughter has a competition that day that may conflict...

Okay, yes, I'm still doing more planning than driving... ughhh... ;)

    Congratulations, Brian!

Just curious - how are you planning to break-in your new toy?

fwiw, I was surprised to be told by the dealer to drive it like I intended to drive it once the oil reached operating temp. Sounds like you may have the same approach if you're headed to the track so soon!

Compromise approach... I plan to drive it hard (seating those rings and smoothing off all the edges and all that... see prior thread), but keep the RPMs down for the first 600 miles (which keeps me compliant with the owner's manual)... and bed in the brakes with lots of heat cycles (see prior thread). The high-g cornering and braking should also shake loose anything else that needs to be shaken loose.

And then I'll get that potentially dirty / metal-shaving-ridden oil changed... have them go over the car for anything that might be awry... and be ready for some high-RPM fun.

I couldn't resist, I drove to FoD to see the car. It was sitting in the detail bay, engine still warm from the run to get the inspection sticker and a tank of gas. It's gorgeous. More understated than the other Stradales I've seen due to the color, but it's a great looking car. The interior is awesome. My boys wanted to stay around until Brian came, but I didn't figure he needed an audience.

The photos are taken and Brian is on the road. Please clear a path from Plano to Coppell and keep the side streets open.
