I have always liked JPM, thought of him being a little erractical from time to time, but he has shown real speed as his F1 career progresses through the years, I figure that when he does finally learn how to use his head a little more, his ability will carry him to a WDC (Perhaps his IQ had dropped by 20 points since "Camara-Gate"). After watching the post-race interview and seeing how his attitude has regressed through the years, I have to admit that I am starting to wish that he will never win the WDC. Just to think I was hoping that he would goto Ferrari instead of McLaren when his Williams contract ends, what the hell was I thinking !? Unless he finally grows up, at this point in time, I feel that he simply lacks the intellegence, attitude and class to be a WDC.

Anyway, he was crying about how MS driving into him and forced him onto the grass, and he is hoping that FIA will look into this incident....etc. Someone at the post-race conference should just hand him a bottle to suck on as he went on about it. When I watched the replay of the start again, what I saw was JPM turning into MS at the start of the schane and appears that he was the one trying to bullying or forcing his way through in the typical start of the race, cold-tyres, low grip and even less brain JPM fashion. And with it being Imola and the schcane is tight as it can be as is, there is no way the two of them can come out the corner together. With MS in the lead, and being MS, who would not and should not be intimated by JPM, MS took the proper racing line and even left JPM some room to go through, unlike what he did to RS. RS was all the way on the grass!! Anyway, I feel that the exchange was nothing more than proper racing, even if a crash had occured and took both of them out, it would have been nothing more than a racing incident at the most. I sincerely hope that KR make JPM his bi*ch next year at McLaren, and send JPM to Minardi or Jordan or even back to CART the following year. Anyhow, thanks for the opportunity to vent and show my disappointment with JPM. Any thoughts on this, my fellow members?

I agree--I also saw JPM chopping MS very hard on that first left hander that began their "fracas". Also, he seems to have "forgotten" thet he pushed his own teammate, Ralf, onto the WET GRASS immediately after at over 150 MPH.

Montoya is becoming a girly whiner, IMO. He needs some serious lessons in growing up before he goes over to McLaren.

JPM is beginning to remind me of JV already. He's made a decision to go to McLaren, which, right now, looks to have been ill considered. I think he's having second thoughts and, just like JV, is showing his frustration with himself by whining. I guess he's the only driver who is allowed to be agressive.

I agree, racing incident and no more. Other than that, I thought it was a great race. Kudos to Button and Bar. The fun of the season is going to be watching that team and driver improve. I definetely think there's a win coming up for them this season.

    Another great drive by MS.

When JPM started his F1 career I must say I liked him. But that started to fade quite fast as he made stupid moves one time after another. He always has an excuse not to win and he thinks his `all or nothing` actions are always right. There is NO way he could have overtaken MS on the outside of the track today. JPM as an F1 world champion one day? Dream on...

Quote from F1.com from the post race interviews:

"Q: (Olaf Bachmann – Koelner Stadt Anzeiger): Juan, can you explain your gesture on the last lap to Michael?
JPM: I just said ‘what happened, what were you thinking’. That’s all.
MS: I thought you were congratulating me.
    JPM: I never do actually"

JPM is showing his true colors. Those of an ass.

Q: (Andrea Cremoensi – La Gazzetta dello Sport): Juan Pablo, have you seen Ralf (laughter)?
JPM: I did close the door you know. I don’t have anything against what I did, but it was because of the first incident. I wasn’t going to lose 10 positions. I don’t have a problem with that, it is fine by me.

Notice LAUGHTER!!! SO JPM has no problem almost ruining Ralf to keep position after his laughable move on MS. That should be investigated for sure. He should be penalized for his move on Ralf. The two incidents are not related. Glad to see him be such a sore loser. No class just crass. Just like Indy.

My thoughts exactly! I just got done reading the full post race comments and for JPM to say that the incident with RB at Indy cost him the WDC last year just continues to show that he is too much of a whiner. Last time I checked he didn't even finish 2nd in the WDC. Not winning enough is what cost him. He deserves a pacifier more than a winning car.

I thinks it's quite fitting that he's going to McLaren while he watches them struggle through their worst start in 20 years. And being apparently clueless as to how to fix what's wrong with a car they've been basically playing with for 2 years. No wonder he's all sour grapes. But that blaming negative attitude is not gonna help him.

I think both JV and JPM have no true sense of what winning F1 WDC is really all about. Both of them went to F1 as the darling little champion of CART, and have been extremly lucky to start their F1 career with a well established front runner such as Williams. JV was perhaps a little too optimistic in thinking that he could be like MS and tried to creat a team around himself. The difference was that BAR was a brand new team and Ferrari was already a well established team ( An real understament here) in transition. As for JPM, he is simply too lucky for his own good. It was interesting to see JB and JPM sitting on the side of MS. You can clearly see how different the two of them are. I am beginning to think and agree with JB himself that he was in some ways lucky that Williams had decided to let him go after his first season. As he went through the pain of not having the best equipments and team around him. Ironically, I do believe that JPM was brought into F1 and replaced JB at Williams. I am starting to believe to be a true WDC, one needs to start with a humble beginning (As most of the multi-time winners). That it maybe the only way they learn how to be a true world class champion. At this point, I for one would be happy to see MW, FA, JB or KR (I think he is just really frustrated right now, it is still not an excuse for him for what he did at the Malaysian GP, but I can somewhat see how he feels.) as future F1 Champions, and hopefully they will achieve that with Ferrari when MS does eventually retire from F1.

PS: I never knew that MS was so close to JMF's points/race record, and I would have never thought that anyone could have ever surpass the great JMF's driving record as I have always consider him to be the greatest of all time, not only from the driver's POV, but it is to my understanding that he was a true class act. Wish I had the chance to see him race as he was way before my time.

First off, I consider myself a Williams fan. But I agree with everyone above. JPM was completely out of line and needs a butt kicking. I think MS did push him very wide but that is racing. What is not racing is driving your own teammate out onto the grass and keeping him there!! JPM cost RS at least two spots by pulling that move and is lucky that RS was able to keep the car under control. I cannot wait till he gets over to McLaren where he can compete with KR to see who is tougher (the guy who pushes track workers or the guy who drives his teamate off the track).

Since you're a Williams fan you should be used to this situation. Mansell, Piquet, Prost all battled each other. Same with Prost and Senna at Mc Laren.

JPM's whining was uncalled for and made him look like a dope, but his driving was entertaining. Ralf would probably disagree, but hopefully learned a lesson today on what to do with his brother should he ever get another chance as in Montreal or Interlagos.

Well said and quite a bit of agreement will be found here!! I was holding my breath that MS car was not damaged as wheel to wheel with open wheel racing does not have good results.
