Apparantly JPM needs a tour in NASCAR to learn 'Rubbin's racing'. Very disappointing to hear his sour grapes - and JPM looked all the worse from MS staying above it.

Mercedes - anyone remember back a few years when Mika and David ran away from everyone? Whaa happened? Ron and Norbert are going to have to do something or Stuttgart will.

    Forza to all

Ferrari 2007: Jarno Trulli and Jeff Gordon - talk it up - Marlboro's out and DuPont is in. :)

MS- Forza Ferrari! Job well done!
    RB somewhat disappointing today.
    JB- well deserved!
JPM- what a sour grape...grow up!
Kimi-better luck next time...I mean next year!
(The 2 arrogant ones are teaming up next year!)

    ...just my thought.

    I, too, say "bravo JB".

(Maybe all that winning makes it easier, but) when MS gets a 3rd, he's happy to get the podium and explains why (or accepts some responsibilty) for the result -- and still praises his team. When JPM gets a 3rd, it's a whine-fest.

Can someone explain to me why they add that little bit of extra track (the white section on the outside below)? IMO they should be made to control the car -- if they go off, they go off...

Quotes from our man JPM on MS today:

"He said he didn't see me, he didn't know I was there. He probably forgot to look. I got in front of him before Tosa. He didn't see me? He must be blind or stupid."

"Look at Indianapolis last year - there I was given a drive-through and that cost me the championship. I would be champion now - and he gets away with it. The rules are not fair. They should be for Ferrari and everyone else."

    UNQUOTE

Somehow last year after watching every race, I missed the part about JPM 'almost' being champion but for one drive-through penalty.

Good first couple of laps and then yawn ;).

The main thing JPM does wrong is the moaning. If he was at McLaren Ron Dennis would have educated him by now on how to out sike the other drivers, but Head and Williams don't really talk much to their drivers ... if you know what I mean. Williams is the hardest team to drive for ... you need to be very mentally strong to survive.

Thus JPM has been left to make his own way and his natural self is coming out. With luck Ron still will have something to work with and we might see a faster, more mature racing driver emerge ... if Ron can get his cars working again. Ron is the master at nurturing drivers!

Buttons first lap was brilliant but it was then obvious that MS was faster and only a matter of time before he was leading. The lap after Button pitted was good enough for THIRD on the grid!!!

Thus game over and while I had intended to watch the complete race ... I went to bed.

Hopefull BAR can find a bit more race pace and then we will have some racing.

As for the rule changes ... hmmm, if they fnck with the spirit of F1 anymore they will only make things worse. If they had the original rules we would not have this boring situation, as even if the racing was boring we would have interesting engineering ideas to talk about and enthrall us.

Anyway as I have said in the past, the main problem with F1 is that we have very few REAL racing drivers ... ie. we have a 6 time world champion competing against WC virgins ... game over.

The problem is SOOOO obvious if Mosley and the others cannot see it then please step down now.

Note MS kept closer to the inside in order to avoid J"Pushy"M.
Every course has had refinements. Have you seen the speeds at which they travel? They end up on there & nearly on the grass every lap. So much so, that during ever-so-brief Pits, grass removal is part of the stop.

Although I understand what JPM is feeling, to blast MS right there during a live post-race conference was inappropriate for someone who aspires to be the next champion. I wonder if MS wanted to give him a sucker punch right there on live TV?

However, let's keep in mind that it's situations like this that make F-1 a whole lot more interesting, and fun to watch.

BTW, did JPM flip the bird at MS during his victory lap? If so, that again is not what a champion does.

Vintage MS today, staying very close to JB and waiting for JB to pit, busting out some fast laps on the clear track then coming out of the pits first-the race was over then.

I'm sick of JPM and his whining about the first lap; he had 61 other laps to catch MS. I knew JPM was a punk when last year at Monza he could have really asserted himself by beating MS & Ferrari in front of the "home crowd". Instead MS beat him into the first curve at Monza and JPM was never a threat, just like today. JPM may be world champion one day-after MS retires.

Will someone please show JPM the 1979 French Grand Prix when Villeneuve and Arnoux were banging wheels at the end of the race fighting for second? There was no whining back then.

The only thing that JPM should be worried about is that next year he'll be teamed with KR on what is fast becoming a third level team....

JPM is such a poor loser, he does the same to his teamate and he's *****ing about Michael? Even when they tried to get Michael to put his slow start to fuel weight his totally dismissed it and gave all the credit to Jenson, period .That's a champion and a gentleman. Did you notice the look on Michaels face after JPM's ***** session? Boy , if looks could kill. Can't wait for the next race.

One of the best sequences in Grand Prix racing, ever.
And if I remember right, they both laughed together about it after the race at the great time they had.
    That's racing.

Congratulations for yet another fantastic race by MS and Ferrari. Rubens just wasn't on his game all weekend. It's nice to see Jb showing enthusiasm over his greatly improved team. JPM.....no comment.

What error did JPM make when trying to pass MS? It seemed like he was along side MS. Isn't MS supposed to make space if JPM gets even with him? I think JPM might have lost a lot of supporters with that post race...

Well it seams like Bridgestone got their act together with the tires? There seems to be less of a Bridgestone Michellin gap?

JPM is a baby. everytime he speaks I'm embarrassed for him. Maybe he should try IRL?

i thought today's race was interesting. i'd like to have seen a better fight with alonso and rubens at the end. but the first few laps really were the most interesting. i was flipping between the race and the thing they had on the discovery channel because MS ran away with the lead, again.

i thought the interesting figures were the fact that he's led something like 200+ laps this season, and there has only been like 230 laps raced so far. that is impressive. sounds like something that happened in 2002. does anyone have figures of then?

You cannot go around the outside of another competitor and NOT expect them to have to use all the road like they normally do. Thus MS had the racing line and was still in front of JPM. They did not bump wheels in this corner ... so JPM was not physically forced off the road.

But good on him for atleast trying ... just needs to keep his mouth shut. What he should have done maybe was try the switch back move, ie. brake real hard and flick up the inside ... probably would not have worked because MS had the faster line anyway.

Fantastic job by MS today! Im happy for Jenson Button and BARHONDA , Great to have another team putting the pressure on Mclaren Mercedes and BMW Williams. Jenson seems grateful. Its unfortunate that JPM took the stance he did in in the post race interviews , I think he just lost alot of credibility with F1 fans. If your going to try a move like he did on MS. (attempt a pass on the outside) what did he expect? Would he have allowed MS to do so. I think not. The difference being MS would not have been complaining about it afterwards! He has class! I hope McLaren Mercedes think real good about this matter. IMO Montoya would be an asset for Minardi. Spain is coming up next, I cant wait!! CIAO

How is this different from the RS/TS incident at Bahrain...I'm struggling to see the difference...is it simply inside/outside?

Yes. When two cars are even going into a turn, the inside car has the "right of way" -- the outside car must leave room for the inside car to exit. At race speeds, you can't hug the inside curb both going in and coming out of a corner -- the mechanical grip just isn't there ... especially on lap one when you started on the dirty line.

MS probably could have exited a bit tighter, but the rules didn't require him to ... and he was protecting his position -- as JPM did when he steered right into Ralf on the straight, without any cornering dynamics to take the blame.

And what was JPM thinking? What if he had gotten ahead of MS? Did he really think he was going to hold off MS for 62 laps and three pit stops? JPM still would have finished no better than third -- but it might have handed Button the win. It wouldn't have helped JPM, just hurt MS.

Ralf did much the same thing -- he held up Rubens until Sato and the more aggressive Renault drivers caught up. RS again tried to slam the door from the outside and got nerfed when the inside car had nowhere to go. Ralf didn't help his finish, he just hurt Rubens ... who maybe needs to be a bit less of a gentleman to keep up with Michael.

I think JPM's final comment when he said he NEVER congratulates Michael on a win, says it all. What an A$$-OLE crybaby. I agree he would have only held MS up in the race, JB would have won and that would be a victory in JPM's books because of his rivalry with the Schumacher brothers.

But for me the biggest disappointment this season has been RB. Ferrari needs to replace him and quickly. Do they want MS to do everything on his own??!!

On that "turn"? That ain't no passing lane. Whether all hell is breaking loose on the 1st or 62nd lap, tires are usually on it, almost aiming for the "don't walk on the grass" sign. MS got as far inside on that turn at that time as anybody did throughout the race as he could despite momentum, not to spite JPM. JPM is simply spiteful to everyone but the face in the mirror.

Edit: All this was activity, if broken down - was going on in what could be "safely" be measured in hundredths of a second and most importantly, not in the comfort of a TV room.
