They use our company to buy parts. I'd like to see the inside of that place.

There was a great writeup on the company in Baltimore magazine last year. They were doing mainly Ferrari conversions and the factory tried to shut them down but some big players in washington, who happened to also get their cars from JK, went to bat and lobbied for them. They have submitted the paperwork for approval of the Smart cars so they can sell them in the US and last I heard Mercedes was trying to shut that down or at least delay them until MBUSA started selling Smarts here. I've tried to contact them through email but have been unsuccessful. A group trip to the shop would definately be fun though!

I went there today to see what kind of cars they had lying around. The garage door was wide open and there were 6 ferrari's on the floor. 3 360s, a 355, 2 tr's, and the mercedes clk-gtr (the guy said it's worth 1.9 million). however, when I asked If i could walk through the rest of the shop, they refused, because a manufacturer was doing tests for a new vehicle in one of their labs. So basically, I doubt that we would be able to form a group feild trip until the manufacturer is done in the lab, which probably won't be for another couple of months.

I paid attention to your post digitec. I don't know if I could get a tour set up. I'm an accountant at a MB dealer in the baltimore area so I don't talk to JK first hand. Actually I do have their number in the computer and may give them a ring just to ask it a tour is possible.

Didn't mean to dis your post.... I was just thinking that they might be more receptive to someone they do business with rather than someone just walking in off the street....

Looks like they are federalizing foreign cars. Very cool stuff. I guess it really helps to be near a large port area like b'more. I'd love to get my hands on anything in there, wow!
