Just a Ferrari lover, who is very interested in learning more about the history and passion of the brand (I'm kinda like a mute DES/NNO), but don't own one, and therefore, don't have much to add to the conversation in terms of contributing or enlightening people on my experiences. In fact, while I've loved Ferraris since I first saw a real live 308 when I was about 8 years old, I've never even ridden in one. I would love to. See them around here in South Florida all the time, but currently do not know anyone who owns one.

Anyone in Ft. Lauderdale (or anywhere in Broward or Dade Co.) want to give my first ride in a Ferrari? I would be incredibly greatful!!! Would probably make my year.
    [email protected]

Otherwise, I usually just lurk and read about the experience of ownership and sense of belonging, and of course, dream of one day being able to own one.

    That's my story.

I usually just read many of the great posts in here. I don't own any F-car...my brother does...but I guess we consider it as OUR car..the '87 328 GTB with Koenig body. He has sold his 360 but is thinking about re-ordering one again...ha ha.

I must say that this is the very best F-car related site. Tons of infor, great pics, nice people, good advise....that's very addictive for me.

I live in Thailand, so the F-car is very rare....I am just glad that we got one to park in our garage...ha ha.

I'm a proud lurker. Like most of the other lurkers out there, I don't own an Fcar but could only hope to own one in a couple of years(mmm 360 spyder..). For now I just soak up the knowledge and pics and post whenever I feel my input can be of use or I have a question that isn't already answered.

No ferrari....at least not yet. I plan on getting one this year (either a 456 or 360).

This forum is a great break from most other web boards. The people here are really "playing". Playing the game and living a huge fantasy for most by owning a dream car. Hearing everyones views on the business and investing forum was very informative.

For the other lurkers, just keep soaking up information and let this site inspire you to work on your goals.

I'm just your average 21 year old lurker/dreamer, even though I've only been registered for a month. Like most others here, I have that indescribable Ferrari obsession. However, the irony is that I've never even seen one up close and only 3 or 4 ever, go figure. For now I'm just learning the history and this site helps, I also use the Showroom as a source of motivation when I have a 15-page paper due :D. When I know enough to contribute meaningful posts, I'll do so. So, Hi everyone.

Yep, like many others here, just enjoy visiting and reading the forum despite not owning a Ferrari.

Love to learn more about these fantastic cars with view of maybe owning one in the future.

I guess I would also be considered as a lurker too.. I have been following this site for a couple of months now and love it. My reasoning is pretty much the same as everyone else that lurkes. I usually don't fell that I have anything to add to what is already being said. And I would like to say that the group of people that post here are amazing. Almost eveything I think

I am currently in the process of locating and buying my dream car - the F355 GTS.. I have owned a 99 Carrera Conv for about 2 years before and sold it at the end of last year. It was a beautiful and fun-to-drive car but just not a Ferrari. I have driven only one F355 GTS in my life about 3 years ago and instantly fell in love with the sound and everything about it. I bought the Porsche instead of that and always regretted it.

Anyway, as soon as I buy my car, I will start being more active on the board and will start sharing my experiences.

At least, my low post count says so.

No ferraris in the garage, but an active interest in the marque. I have a couple of Ferrari "connections", though. I work with BillH, who is kind enough to bring his Testarossa to work once in a while to keep the fires of envy lit amongst his co-workers. And my company is one of the sponsors for Ferrari Maserati Racing Days 2004, so I am looking forward to meeting a bunch of you at the Ferrari Challenge event at Road Atlanta May 14-16.

Very interesting reading and good to see so many first time posts. Lots of people say they don't post because they don't feel they know enough or are not owners of Ferraris. Well I don't own a Ferrari and know nothing about everything but hope beyond hope that sometimes I might say something that helps or gets people thinking, smiling or whatever.

This site is what it is because people post on it and I for one welcome all views and enjoy all thoughts from who ever posts them for whatever reason.

Hey guys, first post. I guess I have been here about a year. I am hooked on f-chat and I know if I start posting I will never get any work done! I already check in probably twenty times a day as it is. I have picked up so much from the tech, and I love the pics. It is great to see everyone's cars, and since I am finally posting I would like to say congrats to Brian on your C.S. That is a incredible car and you deserve it, anyway, enjoy!

I too am one that signed up some time ago but never posted. I enjoy the sight and check it pretty much every day - I am fortunate enough to be in a position to own one of the fabulous car BUT I am unfortunate enough ( or fortunate enough - depends on how you think of it I guess!) to live in the British Virgin Island (Tortola) where owning one of these cars would be pretty much impossible - those of you that have been here and driven on our roads know what I mean - also I highly doubt my local mechanic, Smiley, would know what to do with a 12-cylinder F-car engine! He has enough trouble with my current vehicles!. At any rate just wanted to say hi from the sunny Caribbean!

You got dat right. A cousin of mine used to live on St. Thomas, and my wife and I spent our honeymoon there. We were tooling around the mountain roads and suddenly came up on a car in the middle of a hairpin curve. The car was up on blocks... parts where lying out in the road... the owner and a bud were taking a break by the side of the road... I decided to stop and chat, and in between sips of his adult beverage, the owner explained that, "The car, she stops man. No brakes. Doing dem brakes is a ***** man. You want some ganja?"

    Ah living on junkanoo time...

Not to mention the various forms of "non-fenced in" wildlife that take over - cows, horses, donkeys, goats, pigs! Ah well - ya get used to it after 8-years. I lived in St. Thomas for a short time before moving here. Of course where else can you hand the police officer your "Adult beverage" while digging out your license and registration - HA!

i lurked for quite a while before my first post - still remember it - Wayne A. inquired about that old "Ferrari & Pininfarina" book and i actually had some info to offer since i owned that particular volume...

most of the time prior to that people simply beat me to the punch - you guys are good... not to mention up-to-date... most of my friends arent "up" on ferrari .. i could show them a 355 and they'd remark... "cool is that Ferrari's new model?"...

i chime in every now and then and post pics of my trips to dealers, Toronto, car shows and such...

every now and then i post my recent paintings.. but i tend to keep that to a minimum... since i'm not an advertiser i dont want to tick off Rob and "use" his hard work to my advantage... i posted my recent Enzo pic and someone responded that i should start a thread with ALL my work...

as exciting as that sounds.... i think Rob wouldnt exactly like that... so i tend to keep that to the sidelines...

but i try to chime in as often as i can... but yes... i lurk more than talk...

    just shy i guess... :)

    GT
ps.. if i'm off base on the posting-paintings thing lemme know... i could raise my post number a few digits.... :)

LOL. I was working for the IRS when I visited St Thomas so I decided to pay a courtesy call on the local head of the VI-IRS. Talk about laid back. He said, "This is a small island and everybody knows everybody. So when someone new moves to the island, we let them do their thing. Then after two years or so, we audit them to see if they have been cheating. If they have been good, we never audit them again. If not...."

Of course, this was almost 27 years ago. Things might have changed... Naww, it probably still the same. Nothing changes on the islands. Everyday is just another damn beautiful day in paradise.
