I am planning on attending my first Grand Prix...I understand during that week that either Ferrari or Ferrari owners club host some parties and events....anyone know how to get in touch...I am current F355 owner.

I went last year and sat at the hairpin. I had a great time. Search the archives on the old F-Chat, and you'll see a lot of info. But get cracking, this is show time for Montreal. If you want a hotel, I'd book today.

    Have fun, DrTax

ps Get ready to pay through the nose for a room.

FCA-Canada, Ferrari of Ontario, etc. put a police-escorted drive from Luigi's Service Center to Peel Street every year - the whole block of Peel is roped-off for display of the cars (thursday afternoon, I believe). VERY cool event, Ferrari fans mob the place to photograph the cars and talk to the owners. Last year, a DJ set up shop in a storefront and played tunes. Porsche and Lamborghini put something similar together, but there are very few Lambos that run and Porsches are as common as Fords these days, so the crowds really turn out for Ferrari.

Last year, there was an all-Italian festival where the new Enzo was put on display with last-years' F1 car and lots of other cool offerings. Didn't get to go, but I was with some friends from the FerrariList - we went Karting instead.....several large indoor/outdoor Karting tracks in Montreal!

Montreal is NOT Indy.....Montreal is a car-town for sure, exotics are appreciated, not vandalized or spat-on. Very European flavor and attitudes - leave your "I love George Bush" t-shirt at home. Mass transit is great, I'd use that to get to the track. The food is terrific downtown, party atmosphere everywhere, did I mention Canadian Beer???

I went last year and it was a great time. All of the major F1 teams throw parties on the streets of downtown Montreal. Ferrari's party was in Little Italy, and there was an Enzo, a 250 GTO, some new Maseratis, plus plenty of "used" Ferraris and Lamborghinis. It was fun to see, and definitely worth going to. It seems that half the city attends the actual race.

I had the pleasure of attending Montreal two years ago. I had a blast. It is a great circuit that offers good seats, nice breeze, and a technical track. The city shuts down for the race as there are different parties for certain marques every night (BMW M night, Ferrari night, Honda night, etc). As mentioned above, the public transportation system (Metro) is great and drops you off right at the track. I would hihgly reccommend attending. I had a great expereince.
