I live in Dallas, TX, and I'm thinking of inspecting a Ferrari 328 GTS for sale in Montreal sometime soon. Does anyone know and recommend a good Ferrari mechanic for a prepurchase inspection in the area? I also read the thread with positive feedback about the Ferrari Quebec dealer's service department. Anyone else have any comments about Ferrari Quebec in Montreal? Finally, is it even possible to testdrive a Ferrari in March/April in Montreal? Being a Dallas local I have no concept of true winter. Thanks.

First off the snow is all gone, however we can have freak snow storms in April. Second, I have had all of my 308's service done in Montreal for the last several years. The service department manager is Paul Darling, great guy. If it FoQ's black 328, it is a great car, it has been there for at least a year now, maybe a little more. I am sure they can handle the PPI. BTW if Paul is out ask for Elio. Aside from that I trust them with my 308 for big and small jobs.

    Regards
    JP

    There's 3 that I can think of:
    FOQ; John Scotti; Exoticar Inc.

All deal with Ferrari. If your buying from Scotti or Exoticar then I would definitely use FOQ for the PPI.

I second Auto Bugatti from Montreal. I have sold the owner Joe a few Ferrari's and have always kept a great relation with him. Tell him Vasco from Toronto sent you.

They are a well known Ferrari body and mechanic shop. And also distribute lots of nice makes and used exotics. OH AND ask him when are those damn Saleen S7's, Panoz and Alfa's finally going on the road LOL. *kidding* We should see a few of those hopefully soon (maybe not so much the S7 - At $500,00 CDN? I dont know)

You can also PM me for some info, no worries.

Last time I went to Auto Bugatti (in January ) , they had the Saleen S7 and the Panoz Esperante that were going to the Montreal auto show. Amazing cars!

    They also had a Testarossa , 348 , 360 and a Mustang Saleen.

In that list of FoQ , Auto Bugatti and John Scotti automotive .... there's Ferrari Luigi Sports Cars that you can put on.

Actually, it's a blue 328 at Exoticar. Ad listed on FerrariAds.com. Seller wants $42,000 for it. Car is a 1987 model with 23.5k miles, 2 prior owners, and 30k belt service done in 8/02. Below are some pictures. Do you guys think this is a good deal or a fair price?

Based on what I've been seeing it's a pretty fair price.
Again, PPI.....get lots of information/detail from them
Mind you, for this price your close to an early 348...
I'm planning a trip down to Montreal next week to see some of Exotic's stuff so I'll update you then

Could you look over the yellow 330 and post your thoughts while you are down there. I am interested in an older 330 but the color is a real turn-off.

    Thanks in advance.

Check out TMR AUTO. They specialise in "older" Europeans. They always have a ton of old 911, Testarossas and 300 series on jacks getting serviced. Judging by the amount of business they do year to year the seem to have a lot of satisfied customers. PM me if you would like their exact adress.

Not really good for business to comment like that, espescially when you are trying to sell your product on another thread here on ferrarichat.com. It's never good to talk bad about anyone. Maybe with close friends or whatever but you never know who may reading. I am definetly not here to make any enemies either.

I know Joe and have done business with him before. He has a nice selection of exotics (I have sold him 3 x 355's) He has one of the best body shop's in Canada and he also represents Saleen for Canada, Alfa Romeo Montreal and Panoz Montreal. Not bad. I am starting out my own dealership too, whish I would be where he is, maybe one day.

I am not trying to boast about who I know or anything. It is just a thought.

    Take care.

    Well said Vasco.
I have nothing to gain on this matter, but I have had my f-cars serviced at Bugatti for the last 12 years, and since day one, I have never had a problem.

Djcavalino, maybe the things that you have heard may have come from a disgruntled employee speading false rumors or an unhappy customer. Who knows? But you don't get to that point in the auto sales/repairs industry by having a bad reputation. People from all over Canada and the U.S. send their exotics to Auto Bugatti for repairs/body work. Like in all businesses there will always be an unhappy customer, but give the business owner a chance to make it right, and then you'll see the true side of that business owner. I, myself a business owner doesn't always know what agenda a certain employee has on a given day, but whatever wrong doing he/she has caused, one thing is certain is that I will bend over backwards to make it right if given the chance. At the end of the day it's my business and my REPUTATION.

This thread was started with a simple question. A gentleman from Texas was asking about mechanics in Montreal for a PPI. He has received some leads from different F-Chatters, if you read them all, you'll notice that there wasn't anyone giving negative references. In other threads similar to this one you'll notice that when someone needed info/feedback on a dealer, garage etc. there would be PM's when the feedback might have been negative in order to keep the matter private. This chat room should not be used to slander anyone
