1986 Mondial 3.2 Cabriolet #61451 Mfd. December 1985 Red/Black 43,000 Miles Ripon, CA [email protected]
80 euro Mondial 8 #34967 orig grigio w/ red interior, now red/red - don't like red interiors! Will be Le Mans blue w/charcoal/black interior. (Think that early Mondials look best with dark paint - Alan I thinks yours really looks good) Bought as a derelect, engine sucked valve - totally rebuilding/refurbishing everything - no way cost effective but a lot of fun - I know, I'm very sick. 31000km, not driven since 93 San Jose, CA [email protected]
You know, being equally sick as you are , would be tempting to bolt in Euro carb cams and Webers from a late 70s GT4 for 250 hp - easy to do and more reliable..... sounds like it will be a gorgeous car!
Russ, Thanks, at some point I'll be addind an aftermarket ecu, and then upgrading the induction. I have been leaning towards a supercharger after reading several threads, but your carb setup (if I could pull it off as well as you did) is really attractive too. Decisions, decisions..... Tom
Thanks Tom, I agree with you. Mondials definitly look better in darker colours. I always wanted one in Nero with tan interior. The black hides all of the other black trim and, in my humble opinion, makes the whole car blend together a little better. I look forward to seeing some images of your car when it is finished. It's a pity more people haven't registered their cars here yet. There has to be more Mondials out there.....
Tom It's tough to beat supercharger set-ups like Mark Eberhardt's for sheer power. There is also a FChat guy (great guy, but forgot who right now) with a 350hp Norwood turbocharged qv cab. In any form, Mondials are all fun. Looking forward to seeing your baby come together! best rt
I have a 92 t-Cab, Red/Tan (Dallas, TX) that I just restored from the ground up. The car has 39k miles and was somewhat neglected when I purchased on Ebay 2 years ago. It had never been wrecked but was needing total redoing. I had the engine, paint, and the interior redone and now it looks and drives as if it was showroom new. I put tubi on it right after I got the car and it made all the difference. It is the best driving Ferrari I have had todate. I own a Porsche GT-2 and though it is a blast to drive fast the Mondial sounds better. They are by far the most undervalued Ferrari's out there.

Lovely car David. Silver shows up a Mondial really nicely. Anyone got any more images of their Mondials?
84 QV Coupe Forza Blue with tan interior The car is in reasonable good order, I am just in the process of rebuilding the front skirts, tin worm attack plus road damage. I just love the car !! The only thing I am thinking of changing is the colour to Black. I lovbe the look of Alanmondial's.
Thank you! Here are a better photos: Its actually called "Prugna." I have been told "...its a color that only a mother could love..." I saw one other this color in the past... The license plate read: NOT RED
Agree - looks terrific. Very classy. And what the heck kind of exhaust is that? Never quite seen the dual enclosed tailpipes before - very unique.
I really appreciate those complements wholeheartedly. The color is just right for taking the car out & not making too much of a scene. As you all know, too much attention can cause a problem at times. The color works on a Mondial for sure. As for the exhaust... Its a Borla system. That tip set is Borla's corporate "look." Its a very quiet set of pipes, but has a great rumble down low.
