I like the smaller package. I would opt for the 6 speed manual though. I don't know if I would want the F1 transmission early in it's production cycle. But I am sure you will love whatever car you choose.

hummmm, let me think about that......a 12 cylinder monster or a well behaved 8 cylinder , I think if you can choose,my choice would be the Red Head!

I agree, the TR has a unique, undeniably exotic look. Width and low center of gravity are the hallmarks of an exotic. The TR in red or black.

Thanks for the great pics Jerry.

The black TR is absolutely stunning. Makes my decision more difficult. The looks, the design, the gorgeous lines, the howling V-12. The 355 on the other hand has a simple but modern design.

Most of the guys have asked how I would make use of the car. Well, not for track, mainly out of the city trips (but not too far), I heard that if you get a flat tire on the 355, it carries no spare tire.

Where I live (in Asia), our roads have heavy traffic MON-SAT. So Sundays (very early) are the best time to use a Ferrari. Luckily we have almost NO SPEED LIMITS to follow, so guys with exotic cars can even reach 300 kph on certain freeways.

The 355 F1 that I plan to buy is a 1998 model, around $89 thousand dollars. Is that a good price ?

depends what Asian country you are in. There are huge markups in some countries. For the UNITED STATES, that would be a good price. But, we would have to know where you are to tell.

Based on that, I say go for a TR... or better a 512TR.

I have driven and owned both......still have the TR! No comparison! The TR is a better built car, compare stats from both new from an engineering point of view and from a structural (materials) point of view. TR RULES!!!!!

A 996 turbo. Err...wait, that isn' part of the poll:D.

Easily the 355F1. The TR is an excellent car in its own right, and its styling will prove to be one of those timeless designs, but the 355's newer feel and tech is hard to overlook. I'd be happy with either though.

TR. Until you have owned a 12, you have not owned a Ferrari.

I've been in a somewhat similiar boat as you - and after driven each (6 spd 355), my preconceptions were completely wrong. Figure out what you want to use it for, what you think is important - and go drive the cars! These threads pop up weekly and run for 100's of comments.

For me - the classic Fcar feel is stellar, and not replicated by the 355's. But the 355's are fast, easy to drive, and much more suitable for daily driving.

Don't worry what I think, any fun car is a good thing. The maintenance bills have to be included in the cost up front, whatever you find, get it professionally inspected before making an offer - and talk to the previous owner's mechanic if you can.

    Good luck, and send pictures!

Both cars have their virtues and pitfalls. However, since I'm a little old fashioned, and prefer the traditional gated shifter and clutch, I would go with the TR.

thats the problem on this site there is to many people that put in full stops and commas and new paragraphs and type alot about nothing as i am crap at reading writing spelling but have owned alot of ferraris both a 355 512 so use my experiance and get a 512 the 355 is an every day car with power steering or as in my previous post find a f512m that is the best 12 cylinder you may now be breathless after reading this but it is good advice without any full stops and commas and new paragraphs
