Looks good, but anyone know anything about it? I don't know what details to look at to notice if real or not. It's not Roland's car is it?
Rob, I beleive that car was on the old board and is indeed a fake. A very good one that the guy spent alot of money on it. It might have been New Zealand if my memory serves me right.
You're right, it'a fake but nicely done. It belongs to a friend of mine in Melbourne Australia. Toyota v8 turbo, runs like a real monster and even think that the chassis is also "home "made. Not to confuse with mine who is a evolutione based on a original F40.. Roland F40LM
Thank you very much for the info Roland and Enzo. I didn't know if it was a fake or not. They did a good job.
Also, I didn't mind to imply yours was a fake. I really meant that if the pic was of a real one, then my first guess would be it might be yours.
Hi Rob, No offense taken, surely not from you.. That car is very nicely put together but with no F.parts on it....The motor is a Lexus twin turbo with a porsche race gear box..Runs well.... Roland F40LM
In Melbourne Australia? Unlikely...surely some of us local guys would have seen it or heard about it!
Yeah I saw the F40 LM before.. Indeed its fake but very nicely done. Plus it really ruins great on race tracks..(after looking at a video)
That car is called the Silhouette. http://www.f40.co.nz/f40/index.htm You can get it in three different versions (engines really) but the top version with the 800hp twin turbo Lexus race engine goes for 195k.
i think someone posted a few vids of the car somewhere around here. edit: apparently that page has the vids i was talking about. but very impressive car indead, especially for a "kit" car.
That's the car I was referring to in the other thread about the F40 prices. This baby will set you back 100k, which is why I doubt it will fly off the shelves. For another 150k you get the real thing.
Hi Peter, his name is William Lancaster and he is in Melbourne. I'm in touch by e-mail .Check him out Roland F40LM
