Very pristine. It is really gorgeous. Can you post pics of the interior, esp. the dash and console? Thanks.

    Gary,

Thanks for the interior pics. It is very impressively well-maintained...almost like new! I betcha she still got that
"leather smell" from brand new. You really got a very good
    example of the Boxer!

    Regards,
    Ron

Great car ! You should replace the radio . The original ones are really bad and you should consider a newer one. Want to sell it ?

LOL... Yep... I think I'll pull out the original factory Ferrari logo Pioneer radio and equalizer (complete with ALL of the original Pioneer/Ferrari manuals) and put in one of those new fangled CD players that has a fancy light up display panel with all the changing colors and patterns!

Then, add about 12 speakers to the interior.... That should look and sound good!

Maybe I could even get $20 for the old stuff on eBay?? What do ya think?

    ;)

    Hey Bonzai/Dave,

I noticed in the picture you posted below of your car, that the front hood louver is "black," is that factory or did someone paint it? I've only seen silver ones on other Boxers.

    Gary
PS: You car looks great too! I really like "all red" Boxers.

I read that the bonnet grills could come in silver, black or red. My car has a red one. Dick Fritz of Amerispec told me he has seen only two cars come through with the louver in red. I was wondering what the headliner of your cars is made of? I heard it could come in different materials. My car was ordered with leather but I dont know what else it could be. I like the all red Boxer also but alas am stuck with Boxer trim, life sucks. Only kidding. Where did you run that Valentine wire? Gary, your car is beautiful, use it in good health.

    Charles,

That's interesting about the hood louver colors. I never knew they were available in that many colors.

My headliner appears to be tan leather that matches the rest of the interior.

I ran my V1 detector power wire down thru one of the dash heater vents and out a hole in the tube that goes to the vent (under the dash) for the air conditioning. From there I ran it directly to the fuse box and tapped into an ignition "switched" wire. The V1 comes on automatically when the car is started. Let me know if you need to see any photos of the way I wired it up. The is the same way that I had my V1 wired in my previous 308 QV.

Gary, congradulations on a truly beautiful Boxer. One of my all time favorite Ferraris. Just amazing, was this the car that was on E-Bay with the seller out of Beverly Hills? Just wondering if this is the same car.

    Thanks,

Yes, this is the same car that was on eBay for a long time and never once came close to meeting it's reserve. I stuck a private deal with the car broker who owned it.

The car was only in California since Feb of this year. Prior to that, it spent most of it's time (1996-2003) in Omaha, NB.

Thanks, John. Hopefully Boxers will continue to rise in value. From what I've read there are only around 200 in the US and they are not allowed to be imported here anymore.... I was tempted to buy a newer Ferrari (355, TR, etc) but decided that I didn't want to lose a ton of depreciation after five or more years of ownership. Hopefully I made the right decision on this car.
