    PRESS RELEASE

    While Luca di Montezemolo continues to head the Ferrari Maserati Group as its President and C.E.O., the following changes will come into effect as from 1st June 2004:

    - Martin Leach takes on the role of Maserati C.E.O;
    - Jean Todt takes on the role of Ferrari Managing Director, while maintaining his present responsibilities within the Gestione Sportiva;
    - Amedeo Felisa assumes the responsibilities of Ferrari Deputy Managing Director.

    Antonello Perricone leaves Maserati to take on other responsibilities within the Fiat Group.

    Well I guess if Todt is getting into the corporate fold then Schumi is going to retire ....

    Probably Bernie might have given him a sweetner to step down, just so that he can inject some competition before the concord agreement runs out in 08 :D

    I'm all for Todt to go up the Ferrari ladder. He's about the only man capable of replacing Luca.

    With him up there Michael should be even happier. Maybe a management role for Michael looks more attractive after he retires, now that Todt will be his boss.

    Brilliant moves.

    What better way to bring more F1 to the road cars than to bring in the reigning champ? And Felisa, as head engineer, is more responsible than anyone for the 360's standard setting chassis, suspension, etc., esp the CS. Remember, the 550/456 platforms were already there when he arrived. Ferrari will move the target again with these next few cars. They should be stunning in every respect. I expect their to be more distinction between the three models than ever.

    It also says a great deal about Maserati's future as a very separate entity.
