I damaged my 308 !!! Took a curve too fast, fishtailed, my left rear tire and magwheel hit the cement curb. Dented the magwheel. Brought the car into the Ferrari Service Center.

They say I dented the Left lower wishbone (Part # 104429), so I need to replace it. I also have to replace the Hub Holder (Part # 107441) (left side).
    I need to replace 4 bushings (Part# 103170), 4 pcs bushings (Part# 105340)

They got a quote from Italy how much these parts would be. ESTIMATE MORE THAN $4,500 !

IS THAT RIGHT ? Is it really that expensive ? My car is a 1978 308GTB (steel body).

MY QUESTION IS : WHERE CAN I ORDER THESE PARTS THAT IT WOULD NOT COST ME AN ARM AND A LEG ?

FOR A CAR WHICH COSTS $30-35 THOU, $4,500 IS A BIT TOO STEEP FOR MY BLOOD.

PLEASE HELP ME FIND A PARTS DEALER THAT HAS THESE PARTS AT A REASONABLE PRICE. THANK YOU.

Gary, Ferrari is not in the habit of letting customers shop around for cheaper parts so they can install them.
It seems to me, your choices are...

A: Let the Ferrari dealer install the parts.

B: Find a repair facility that can perform the proper repairs for less.

C: Shop around for the best prices on parts, and perform the repairs yourself.

D: Sell the Ferrari, and buy a car you can afford.

Will your insurance not cover it?

    No insurance???

These cars are VERY expensive to damage. Only MILDLY expensive, otherwise!

As my Porsche buddies reminded me once, NONE of them are engineered to hit concrete.

Good tips on this thread, follow up!

I've used both T Rutlands and GT Car Parts over the years.

    I'm sorry for your situation.

That kind of money buys a lot of track time, or a lot of professional instruction, which could help prevent losing control of your car on a public road.

    Do you have collision insurance?

Sorry to hear of your accident. In my experience, never accept the price from a dealer as the last word. So far, I've always found much better prices elsewhere on every part I've ever bought for my 308. For eg, Iwas quoted a dealer price for a hood at $1700. I found a brand new one at Ferrari UK for $350! Some of the suppliers suggested are all good ones. I can add to the list George Evans and Dennis McCann in Ohio. Best of luck with your repairs.

Look at www.ferrariservice.ws That is Michael from Ferrari Service Costa Mesa(Ca.,USA). He has 5 or 6 parted out 308s. You can get anything at a fraction of retail. He has even sold parts from 70's and 80's Ferraris to the dealers for their customers.

By the way ....I'm the other Mike at FSC

    Not to sound sarcastic... but.

It's a $150,000 car that's now only worth about $30,000-35,000. A CORRECT set of tires for an early 308 is still $800, a tuneup is still $4,000+ or whatever they cost, brakes, parts, etc are all still very expensive.

Do ye not forget that. The car still needs the maintinence, if anything more so as it's aged, that it did when new.

And parts don't get cheaper as time goes by. It's still a Ferrari. This is why they are called "Exotics".

Not to pick nits, but it's actually a $35,000 car in 1978 (that adjusts with inflation to about $100,000), or a $25,000-30,000 car in 2004. Of course, if one can afford to buy a $100,000 Ferrari, one probably won't be driving a 308. And the most expensive tires I find at Discount Tire locally are $90 each. Mounted & balanced with new valve stems. I couldn't find anything more expensive at tirerack.

And there's nothing that says you have to grin while the dealer's giving it to you, as proved by this thread! This site's good resources can save owners enough to pay for a subscription and pay the broadband bill easily!
