    I researched all reasonably priced fast cars over a one year period. I bought a WRX, then passed on a used NSX, and then decided to get a classic. I wanted reasonable price, acceptable performance with independent suspension, great looks & engine, something that was hand-built and unique, 25 years or older to keep insurance costs down, maintenance costs that were not scandalous and a well-sorted machine.

    For me what matters most for having fun with a car is that it is OPEN!
    And the Mondial Cabriolet allows for that real open driver feeling. It was the last "big" (2+2) convertible Ferrari made ...

    For me:

    1) I already had a 308, and I wanted a Columbo-designed V-12.
    2) I didn't want to pay a huge amount of money.
    3) I wanted a car that would teach me about vintage V-12s, so that I could buy spend a huge amount of money in the future, based on what I learned from this car.
    4) I wanted a car that was increasing in market value.
    5) I wanted a Ferrari that was in limited production.
    6) I wanted a Ferrari that attracted women, rather than a Ferrari that would impress other men.
